It's a beautiful place for a picnic. If you're from Metro Manila and commuting, it's worth it if you have a place to stay. You can either book a staycation unit nearby or take advantage of the rooms for rent offered by locals (around PHP 1,500 to PHP 3,000). But if you have a vehicle, that's fine too since you’ll have somewhere to store your belongings. It can be a bit inconvenient if you’re carrying things and want to explore the location, as getting in and out isn’t easy. Expect a long walk if you plan to have a picnic in the lower area.

Tables and cottages cost between PHP 500 and PHP 2, 500 (or 3k). I would recommend bringing your own food since the items being sold around the area are a bit pricey.

I saw that some of the cottages have sinks and a spot for BBQ. Even so, make sure to bring garbage bags so you don’t end up throwing trash anywhere. There are public toilets available (I’m not sure how many), but according to the information, most of them are functional. You’re responsible for keeping an eye on your belongings. A lot of people pass by the cottages, so you can’t leave your unit unattended. I also noticed some people bringing their own canopies. Maybe it’s for sun protection or a bit of privacy? I’m not sure, but it’s definitely an option.

When you hear "Tagaytay," horses are a given. There’s an area (let’s call it the horse arena, lol) where you can rent a horse. I’m not sure about the exact fee, but it’s definitely not more than 600 pesos. There are also horse owners outside the horse arena offering horseback riding (though I’m not sure what the route is for those, lol) for around 300 pesos.

The weather is cool but tolerable, even if you don’t want to wear a jacket (especially if you're used to air conditioning). However, I suggest wearing a thin layer of long sleeves since the fog tends to stick to your skin and can feel a bit sticky when mixed with vehicle emissions.

We went there when it was slightly raining, so expect the pathways to be muddy. Of course, if it’s not raining, it’ll be dusty. That’s why it’s important to wear comfortable shoes to avoid...
