When my wife and I were walking around tagaytay to find a place to eat Bulalo but without any use of any kind of MSG(which unfortunately most restaurants, eateries, and canteens in the philippines have in every dish they have in their menu), we tried to ask around if there is a single restaurant that cooks Bulalo without MSG in tagaytay and no, there is not a single one that does that(well atleast everyone is honest about using MSG) but the funny thing is, when we were finally about to give up, we found this restaurant, and no, they also cook using MSG but they are the only restaurant that we came across that was willing to serve us with a meal with no MSG, yes but no, it's not Bulalo, it's Fried Chicken! Yes, Fried Chicken, the only thing they can offer us was Fried Chicken, but the cool thing about this is not only that it's delicious, it's also not in the Menu, yes again, it's not, and it was cooked only for us, with just salt to taste, and some calamansi, chili and soy sauce combined as dipping sauce for added flavor, and that made us very very happy. We didn't get to eat Bulalo but we also didn't get to eat MSG, so it's still a Win~Win situation, and besides, we can still cook Bulalo at home without the MSG so yeah! To wrap everything up, the Experience that we had in the Alamat Restaurant was superb, the people are very courteous and very human(which was the best part because unlike other restaurants, people are kind of like robots that only knows how to say Yes and No, like when we were asking if they had MSG in their foods, they would simply say Yes but Alamat Restaurant did say Yes as well but they listened and was willing to cope up with our needs, speaking of Excellent Food Service and Hospitality, they are Topnotch), even though some parts of the chicken was a bit undercooked, they made it up for us by cooking it again without question, and yes, it was...
Read moreI had high hopes for Alamat, but unfortunately, the dining experience fell short. Despite the steep prices, the food was disappointing across the board. While a 10% service fee is standard, it didn't make up for the subpar quality of the dishes.
The chopsuey was overcooked, losing its texture and flavor. The bulalo, usually a hearty and flavorful dish, was bland and underwhelming. The chicken wings were a letdown—soggy and lacking any distinctive taste. To top it off, the bangus was far from fresh, adding to the overall disappointment.
We ordered other dishes, but after these initial bites, I lost interest in trying anything else. Overall, it was a meal I...
Read moreWorst food so far I had in the Philippines. The food is way over priced. The sisig was full of fat and not edible at all. We did tell the server, but all he said was this is how we cook it. The black pink burger was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. We checked some other tables with guests and they too did not consume their food.
We were given dirty dishes by the server and when bought to her attention, she laughed and taught it was funny. Please save your self some trouble and money. Overall Picnic Grove has lost its...
