Honestly I only went to see the abandoned tanks (I love urbex). As those were closed and monitored, and it seemed impossible to go and explore, I decided to at least see the museum.

But who the hell goes to a gasworks museum? Sounds super boring!

Well... Everyone should.

Let's face it - if I wasn't in the neighborhood, not able to see what I wanted to see, I wouldn't have gone to this museum.

And yet I had the best time.

Maybe it's because I like huge machines. And the factory smell. And all the nuts and bolts and pipes and all the engineering behind it (I'm not an engineer, I like the aesthetics of it!).

But it was SO ENTERTAINING. Cool, big machines THAT YOU CAN TOUCH. Really, in what museum do you feel like they want you to touch all the exhibits?

The gimmick of punching your card and spending your token. The game where you turn the machines to provide gas to different spots in the city.

Seriously, this museum had no right to be as cool as it was.

Also, note: if you have kids, DEFINITELY bring them. I'm pretty sure I'd end up being an engineer if I had seen more places like...

Fantastically done place educating you on the history of Warsaw's coal gas production and city-wide distribution throughout the 19th and early 20th century. The exhibition is not that big, but all presented in a very engaging way and also just the right amount of information and displays, not overwhelming you with information overkill but providing all that is essential to get a good idea of Warsaw's era of industrialization and the role of coal gas within it. Ecologically speaking, it is not very critical towards the use of gas, which we think is important to highlight in our modern times, but that part we've just added ourselves for our kids on the way out to get the...

W rejestrze zabytków znalazł się cały zespół gazowni, m.in. z kotłownia z kominem (z lat 1888-1900), wieża ciśnień (1900 r.) i dwa zbiorniki gazu (z lat 1886-1888...

The place is really well maintained and it is very good for locals and maybe one of the most visit places for kidsthe only issue is. The entrance is only possible with a tour guide and he speaks only polish which makes it no point for a foreigner to buy this ticket and visit if he wants to otherwise it's an opening things for people who wants to know what all appliances works with gas and how the gas is produced

Bardzo fajne industrialne muzeum. Zwiedzanie daje możliwość obcowania z zabytkowymi przedmiotami.
