Definitely NOT a 4* hotel. And definitely not worth 240 a night. A shame ! I should have read more reviews here.. We ended up leaving and not spending the night here and we got ZERO compensation from the hotel. Not even the paid breakfast we did not consume ! What a joke. (Yes breakfast is to pay in extra) We stayed at various 4* hotels in south of Portugal and the standing was way way above the Urban California… Photos are definitely misleading! We got what I believe was their worst room. A “view” on a dirty rooftop from the bar next door with air cons and gas bottles. (See real photos compared to the official hotel photos…) This room should not even be an option or people should know they might end up with that for more than 200€ the night… We asked to change room immediately upon arrival but suddenly the nice staff became all defensive and did not help at all. Bathroom wasn’t clean with disgusting toilet brush and hairs on the floor. Crackled paint around the sink and dirty joints. TV wasn’t even straight on the wall. Rooftop drink cups and mess from the day hadn’t even been cleaned up. Couldn’t fall asleep because of the noise. Yes you can still hear the noise from the bars despite their double windows - some hotels in similar locations do use twice double windows. Never again ! You can find REAL 4 stars around for a similar or better price and enjoy a great stay.

Staff were lovely and welcoming, from the reception desk to the pool bar. They were absolutely lovely. The hotel location is perfect but the quality of the rooms are relatively poor. The first night we arrived, we were put in a room without a balcony, although when booking with Expedia it mentioned all rooms had one. When I called reception, they told me it wouldn't be possible to change rooms as they were fully booked during the duration of my stay. When I asked for the nearest available location for my partner to smoke, the same lady then clicked around and 'magically' found a room that would be ready for the next day but would require extra for an upgrade. There was something VERY weird about that room and we had the WORST night's sleep. The next day, a different staff member showed me the room and asked if I still wanted to change, they tried to overcharge me and I had to do the maths for them. Rituals shower gel was fine, but the bed was comfortable but squeaky but comfortable. There was absolutely no storage space nor desk space. The balcony door could not close from the outside so it was hard to keep the smell of smoke outside of the room. Yes, the location was noisy but this did not impact my sleep and I slept much better compared to the room from the first night. Overall I would have thought this was a 3* hotel.

This is a hotel right in the centre of Old Town Albufueria so depending on what type of holiday you are looking for, you will either love it or hate it. We loved it as perfect location for the beach, marine and loads of restaurants. We went off season so can imagine the old town being very noisy peak season but you would be right on the doorstep for the nightlife. Room was perfect, comfy bed, nice balcony and powerful shower. The breakfast is AMAZING and could not be faulted with everything cooked fresh. The pool and rooftop bars were closed when we visited but the rooftop area would be perfect in the summer season however is open in closed season for sunbathing. The team at the hotel were very good and any queries were dealt with but agree with the other reviews the lifts take a bit to master if you’re on the higher floors. We also went for a Spa treat and it is very good value for money and we loved the hydro pool afterwards. Now for the big question, would we use this hotel in the peak season probably not due to the noise from the nightlife but if this is what you are after it’s a perfect hotel.

Horrible rooms too small (MENT TO BE A LARGE DOUBLE ROOM) dose not look at all like the photos they provide at all. very thin glass screen between bed and toilet NO Privacy at all for loo. Shower next too it near bed no door to shower floods the room. they only provide expresso size paper cup ask for mugs they said No. too loud at night that video is 2:30am in morning even attempting to watch the TV to shut of the noise has to be up really loud and you still can't hear it because of the noise. 20 sun bed for a 8 floored hotel. Breakfast they are rude and watch every thing you do 5 staff standing ove your table. And one one tiny lift that only takes you up so far then have to walk round hotel to get in another to take you the rest of the way constantly cueing for lifts

Certainly! Here's a review for Hotel California in the Algarve: --- Hotel California in the Algarve is a true gem. The food is delicious, with a variety of dishes that cater to all tastes, and the drinks are simply top-notch. But what truly sets this place apart are the stunning views that greet you at every turn. It's the perfect spot for a romantic swim with a loved one, offering a serene and picturesque setting that is hard to beat. Whether you're looking to relax by the pool or explore the beautiful surroundings, Hotel California provides an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended! ---

An elite hotel! 🌟 Couldn’t have been happier with our stay over Easter bank holiday weekend! The hotels location couldn’t be any better, as you exit straight into the middle of the old town strip. You can also get taxis to drop off / pick you up directly outside the front door. The hotel has a boutique vibe, meaning it’s quiet/relaxed. The room was clean, modern and comfy. Definitely recommend going for the balcony with pool view room. The only issues we found with the hotel was checking in and out (which took way longer than it should have) and being forced to pay for and wear swimming caps to go into the Spa.. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Albufeira!
