We visited Cabana Fresca. We've got this place recommended by some friends We met at the hotel, on our holiday. I am glad that we chose to eat here. Normally I do not eat fish and seafood. But I've got recommended to try fresh fish and seafood in Portugal.
At first glance the restaurant seemed a little bit to the high end, located right at the beach with a nice view over the ocean.
The restaurant didn't have any kids menu, in the menu - but no worries, they had it all covered.
I ordered a seafood platter, with mixed seafood, Eg. Prawns, crab, two kinds of class and Monkeyfish. Normally I don't eat fish at all, I'm used to prawns and crabs. I've never tried clams before. I am so glad that I tried it. It was so delicious!!
One of the best dishes I've had in Portugal so far.
My wife ordered the Chateau Brian - it was really delicious. A little tough to cut, but melt in your mouth. It was cooked to perfection of her choice, and there was plenty of food. Served with pommes Anna, Asparagus and fresh vegetables. The sauce was good (could have used a little more salt) The herb butter was delicious and very tasty. Their drinks were good and overall a very nice place to eat.
The only reason I can't give this restaurant 5 stars, is because of the high music. Maybe we were just placed badly close to two speakers. The music was a little too high in my opinion, but besides that. Everything was tasty! And delicious.
The staff was service minded and friendly. Also I recommend going for their Caipirinha. Also a good choice.
I would rate this restaurant 5 stars, If the music was a little lower.
Overall, I would give Cabana Fresca 4,5/5 stars.
Thank you for a lovely evening and a very delicious meal.
Would recommend this place to anyone. Fresh, tasty, delicious and nice staff ❤️
Keep up...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant a few times before and always really enjoyed it – the setting is beautiful, the menu is varied, and the food is of a really high standard for very reasonable prices. Normally, I would happily give it 5 stars.
However, on this recent visit (in the middle of the busy tourist season) the experience wasn’t up to the usual standard. Service was very slow – we waited around 20 minutes just to get menus and then another 10 minutes or so before anyone came to take our drinks order. There seemed to be more staff outside encouraging people in than there were actually serving the tables inside, which made the evening feel disorganised.
When the food arrived it was, as always, excellent. Unfortunately, the service was a bit intrusive – instead of giving us space to enjoy our meal, one member of staff kept lingering and oversharing, which made things uncomfortable when all we wanted was a quiet dinner. That said, one of the more senior waitresses was lovely, very polite and professional, and really stood out in contrast.
Overall, the food here is fantastic and normally I’d highly recommend it. But if you’re visiting in peak season, just be aware that the service may not match the quality...
Read moreWent here as a group of friends. We were told that a table was available - it wasn't, we had to stand and wait for a long time. We didn't mind as the location is pretty. Bread and olives were lovely. The food took a long time to arrive. The waiter forgot to bring one of the meals to our table which meant that one person was sat waiting whilst everyone else was eating. After 5 minutes of trying to get the attention of staff, someone came over and told us that the missing meal was still being prepared and it would be another 3 minutes. The food came as the rest of the table were finishing their meals. The apology felt ingenuine and we were charged full price for the meal. The food was average - nice but that's it. The presentation was more impressive than the taste. We sat with empty glasses and dirty plates for around 15 minutes. We had to ask for them to be cleared away and we requested the bill twice before being able to pay. Overall, it's a nice restaurant but it did feel like a bit of a tourist trap: pretty location/presentation but no need to make you...
