La Terrazza del Mare — Restaurant in Albufeira

Found this place on the last day in Albufeira. We really liked a few places including Ruina and especially Cabana Fresca and Tasca d'Alkhaz. Ruina pricey. Fresca fun but construction makes noisy and Alkhaz is good value great service but babies and families and no sea view. This place has modern flair, clean, cool jazz, a second floor terrace with the best view from every table and a fantastic Italian menu with kind staff and iced beer mugs. Our new number one and the first place that we will stop when we return to Albufeira. Just wow. Wow. Love it. Addendum: Dolphins!!!!!!!!!!!@^^@ Addendum two: almost forgot to mention that the food, even the basic spaghetti Napoli sauce is out of this world flavorful. Cannot be beat. Addendum three: sangria with cinnamon stick and fresh mint tastiest all week and we have tried... so many places are so disappointing. 1000restaurants in this town. We have been to a few but hands down this place is best. Spoke with the owner. Passionate about his business. Serious staff meetings during our lunch. These people are excellent for a reason. They work hard at it. Addendum four: we are not leaving. Plane at 7. 2pm here going to stay. Sangria. We honeymooned in Italy. Cinque Terre. Great food there. Authentic ... lovely view. But this is better. Galletta alla diavola pizza best we have ever eaten. Cannot say enough. Will be moving here. Do not miss this place. No more adendums. You do not come here then you lose. Period. The food was good and the drinks were as expected.

Problems occurred when asking to substitute ham & salami on the calzone to chicken. To make a substitute you have to pay the original full price plus an additional €4. The reasoning given was that they are not of similar value and an example was: "you wouldnt swap olives for prawns".

This is quite ridiculous logic as ham, salami and chicken are all of similar value being cheap meats. It is nowhere near the difference as the example of olives and prawns that was given.

Also, it was mentioned when buying meats you wouldnt ask to pay for the meats at the value of another meat. This is true, but you also wouldnt ask the buyer to pay for a meat you aren't receiving as well as the meat you are. The better compromise is just to pay for what you get - it's as simple as that.

Additional sauce for my mothers dish was quoted at another €10 when the dish is only $14 in the first place.

This type of customer service and poor justification ruins everything else that is good about the restaurant.

Response to owner: It is absolutely incorrect that world wide restaurants charge the original price plus the additional charge to swap an ingredient. I have never experienced this in the countless restaurants I have visited. It has always been swapped no problems especially since the ingredients are of similar value. Stating this as the policy doesn't negate the fact policy is unreasonable. If create your OWN pizza is better option than being overcharged then this should have been suggested by the waiter rather than giving multiple bad justifications.

The $10 extra charge for additional sauce is clear. My mother asked for additional sauce for her dish and was told it would be an extra $10. Very...

Thank you Dolton for your incredible service 👏🏼 after boycotting a few restaurants prior, this placed looked calm, relaxing and appeared to have a nice ambiance. The staff left us alone when we viewed the menu, there was no pressure to come in, and it’s always nice to have female waiters welcome you into a restaurant 👍 this restaurant was the best restaurant out of the bunch that is around. Spotless clean, upstairs had a nice view and we had a nice seating area up the front. The cocktails were beautiful (very well made) I wasn’t that hungry so I opt for a kids pizza and my partner had the pasta and clams - all well presented and the service was incredible 👏🏼 our waiter was Dolton (I hope I spelt that correctly) was just incredible, couldn’t do enough for us from the moment we went upstairs. Friendly, warm welcoming, and perhaps a new employee? As he or we didn’t see the special board 🤣 the garlic prawn special would have definitely been I meal I’d have opted for. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant. The only fault here is our own. And we couldn’t tip more 😞 The one night we actually go out and want to splurge, we forgot all our bank cards, cash, wallets and only had VERY LIMITED amount on the mobile phone card that worked 😤 overall very pleased we choose this restaurant.
