Igreja Matriz de Albufeira — Attraction in Albufeira

Beautiful church in the old town. There was some confusion about the service time on Sunday mornings. My daughter and i turned up here at 9:40am and there were also some other tourists waiting outside but the doors were closed. The doors opened at 10am however but the mass itself starts at 11am. Lovely mass with singing and even though we couldn’t understand the language you could feel the passion from the priest giving the mass and it was a pleasure to have the experience of communion in such a special place. Tip would be to get there at least 20min before mass begins to get a seat as the church was very full which in itself is...

Приходская церковь, расположенная на улице Игрежа Нова, выполнена в неоклассическом стиле и была построена взамен предыдущей, разрушенной землетрясением 1755г. Новая приходская церковь была освящена в честь Богоматери Зачатия 15 июля 1800 года на церемонии, которую возглавил епископ Алгарве Франсишку Гомеш де Авелар. Церковь с одним нефом имеет четыре боковые капеллы, крестильную капеллу, хор, две кафедры и ризницу.
