A massive and absolutely beautiful beach in Albufeira! My husband and I stayed within a 5-minute walk to this beach for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. Easily accessible by free elevator or walkable stairs, we spent most afternoons soaking up the sun and cooling off in the ocean. A picturesque location with rocky cliffs on one end and sweeping vistas of the cliff-side buildings of Albufeira.

There is ample space to set up a beach blanket and never felt crowded with other visitors. The lifeguard staff is attentive to changing water conditions, as it got quite wavy during our visits. The water gets deep quite quickly, so having swimming experience is a plus here. The ocean was still a bit chilly during the first week of June, but was a refreshing cool-off from the heat and water temperature was easy to adapt to. Highly recommend...

The beach itself is not bad. Surrounded with cliffs giving a nice view. However we found a bit overcrowded which would be fine but there were so many young Britons all of them drunk. And this is the situation at midday. Can't imagine later. I mean it!! Hundreds of them are locked wherever you move. Hence there were countless empty bottles and cans along the beach. The only good thing I find is waiters walking around the sunbeds and taking orders for drinks and food so on hot days you don't have to move. Sand a bit rougher with millions of broken shells. When you enter the ocean you have to be careful as they're everywhere . Not impressed anyway, there are hundreds of nicer beaches...

Not a particularly nice beach to be honest. The further west you are the less nice it gets with a few settlements of people and some faux cliffs to try and blend in with the real ones. The sun sets behind the cliffs to the west too so it lacks sun or a sunset after a certain time. The sand was also full of broken shells for the most part and not very nice to walk on.

It’s also very touristy and quite expensive with a pair of sun loungers setting you back €20. A walk about 0.8 miles east was rewarding as there was a beach bar in a quieter area that did the same for €10. It was also much friendlier down that end and the sea a bit calmer. It all depends on whether you want to...

Half-light, one of the most breathtaking scenes I have seen in my life 🌅 Caught a 5:30 Flixbus from Faro to Albufeira, and was walking to another bus stop for a transfer, when I turned around to see this view. ⛱️ Perhaps this is to many a random beach, but the skyline at 6:55 in the morning literally took my breath away. Staring across the North Atlantic Ocean, imagining that I could make out the vague shadows to be Brazil, Guyana, Venezuela, Puerto Rico—countries I have been dreaming of visiting—was such a magical experience. 🥰 Turns out the bus stop we were looking for had, in fact, closed down, so all this was a detour, a very very beautiful detour.
