Restaurante 54:
We passed ‘Restaurante 54’ one evening whilst looking for a nice place for a meal. We actually went next door initially. (To the left). The door salesman was very informative, welcoming and accommodating. We informed him we were seeking a place to eat “tomorrow”. The next day, through process of elimination, we went back to the restaurant. The meals didn’t look that appetising. We then went to ‘Restaurant 54’ (next door). The door-salesman, Sam, was amazing! Absolutely incredible. The reviews were also good for this restaurant. Sam was also able to provide a table by the balcony with a sea view. The menu was filled with majority sea food dishes. If you like sea food, I’d recommend this place. We went for a bolognaise and kept it safe. Sams service, the balcony table, sea view and the food were fantastic, however the service from the restaurant staff was appalling. I felt sorry for Sam, he is a super nice guy and completely wasted. His Talent in food etiquette and manners are a breath of fresh air, you don’t find them like this anymore. The staff, when delivering food were unprofessional, obnoxious and border line rude. It took 3 people to bring out 2 plates and a pepper pot. No one checked if we were ok, if the food was ok or if we needed anything else. We finished our meal pretty quick. We had already decided we would walk through the old market town and get an ice cream hence didn’t need the dessert menu. We asked for the bill, to be told there was a minimum spend. We asked why we were not informed earlier, to be then shown the smallest signs through out the restaurant that express there is a minimum spend. You wouldn’t even notice the signs. This then meant we had to find an ATM for cash. ATMs we’re all charging. In the end I asked for the bill to be round up to the maximum spend and I would pay on card. I expressed my appreciation and my disappointment with the payment process to be almost dismissed with sarcasm, unfortunately. This made our date night experience a little disappointing. There are an abundance of places to eat in Albufiera Old Market Town, if your after a view then this is a good place. If your after good food and good service then this is not the place for you. If it wasn’t for Sam I’d rate this restaurant 2 stars, because of Sam - the Door Salesman, I’d rate this restaurant 3 stars. It is also...
Read moreGood value for money and nice sea view. But not a must visit. The man at the front of house was quite rude to us. We asked for a table for two and were told it was needed back for 7:30pm which was more than okay with us. However come 7:30 no member of staff came to get us (like they normally would anywhere else)nor did anyone come in looking for the table. So we think the reservation is late and we sit for awhile to finish the ends of our drinks. Then around 7:35-7:40 a waiter asked us if we would like dessert, so we assume the reservation has not shown up and we accept the offer to stay for dessert. Then at 7:50-7:55, we go up to pay and the man sees us and gives out that we are still here and that we had to leave at 7:30pm and that the reservation was already seated at a different table. We apologized and explained that we thought they would come and get us or give us the bill at 7:30, but the man continued to talk back to us. Very very rude considering we apologized AND we were offered by the restaurant to stay for dessert at our table. Clearly just a misunderstanding that did not warrant the rudeness.
Lost a star because of the rudeness, only reason it is two stars and not one is because of the view. But there are plenty of other restaurants in the area with lovely sea views and while the food was decent, it was nothing to rave about and could find something similar in any of the many restaurants...
Read moreUpon arriving at Restaurante 54, we were warmly welcomed by Sam, a super friendly gentleman who speaks many languages and is incredibly approachable. His hospitality set a positive tone for our dining experience.
The restaurant itself is quite small downstairs, but the views are absolutely stunning. We were fortunate to get a table overlooking the beach, which provided an out-of-this-world backdrop for our meal.
For starters, we had the fish soup, which was incredibly tasty and delicious, setting a high bar for the rest of the meal. The main course, spaghetti bolognese, was beautifully prepared with a generous amount of mince, making it hearty and satisfying.
Service throughout our visit was prompt and efficient, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
Overall, Restaurante 54 offers not only amazing food but also an unforgettable view and exceptional service. Highly...
