Bailote — Restaurant in Albufeira

This is by far the best restaurant in Albufeira in my opinion. I truly cannot understand the bad reviews that some people left and I wonder if they meant a different restaurant or if this restaurant changed drastically.

The food we had was really good, I had the beef filet steak the first time. The meat was great, it was a bit too well done for my taste but when I mentioned it to a waiter (after he asked if everything was okay) he offered to make me a new one, even though I had already eaten more than half of it (I declined because I didn't want the meat to go to waste, and it was still very tasty). Everything else we ordered was perfectly cooked and delicious.

The service in general was phenomenal! Every waiter/waitress was incredibly nice, fast and attentive. We were joking around all the time and it never felt forced or awkward. We even told the owner how great her staff is on our last night there. We even got hugs and very heartfelt goodbyes when we mentioned that it was our last day.

The atmosphere is really great as well, we ate outside but the interior was really beautiful as well. The toilets were very clean. During the day the whole restaurant looked a bit different, at night it was modern and a bit fancy, during the day it was more casual with a different menu.

All in all just an amazing experience and if I ever visit Albufeira again I will for sure eat...

In the beginning we sat outside and the waiter was very indifferent and walked away from us a couple of times. He did not say hello introduce himself just said are you ready to order. He seemed very impatient when I was about to ask a question. He left us for a long time a couple of times. Long story short someone started smoking beside us so we asked to move inside. No problem. Then we had multiple waiters which were very good. We still did have the same waiter at times and he was not friendly at all. We had bruschetta which was very good. We asked for a medium cook on our steak. It came out very rare. It was a very thick steak. They took it back in and came out with it still rare. So they took it back in and came out with a new and a much thinner steak cooked medium rare which was fine. The vegetables were good also. So the food was very good tasting. 8 of us ate here several nights in a row after getting food poisoning else where. When we were all so happy and there was such variety on the menu we thought why bother with the great restaurant debate. All the dishes we tried were good to outstanding. But it wasnt as much the food that kept us coming back as much as the staff. They did everything the could including countless little changes to the dishes to make us all comfortable. Reuben and Paulo in particular took the time to talk to my little niece and nephew and really bring them out of their shell. They encouraged them to try different dishes and let them help serve and clear up our table, for them it was a pricless experience. Im sure the little free bits didnt cost the restaurant anything in the scheme of our bills, but little tasters, a round or two of free port or coffee, an ice cream for the children when they were particularly good.
