La Cigale — Restaurant in Albufeira

I usually don’t leave reviews but thought it was necessary for anyone looking to book to be given an honest review. We picked this restaurant mainly for the view which was beautiful and I would recommend this place for a drink perhaps for that reason but I would avoid because of the food. The food was overpriced for what it was and badly seasoned. The fish was fresh and cooked well but extremely salty from whatever seasoning used. This completely ruined the taste and was rather unpleasant after only a few bites. We also ordered the chicken which was extremely dry and flavourless. The staff were not very helpful or attentive and felt us feeling ignored really. The waiter also forgot one of our sides and then decided to bring it over when we had finished our meal and the bill had arrived. If they had deducted the price of the side from the bill I wouldn’t mind but they didn’t which is another reason for my review. Would...

We came by for a light snack. We ordered a mushroom omelette and a cheeseburger. We were brought a cheese OMELETTE and a mushroom omelette. We told upfront we were in a rush as we had an appointment afterwards but they were willing to change my plate. The omelettes came with greasy chips and some bits of outdated lettuce, onions and tomatoes. I know it's just opening after lockdown but for a restaurant at that location and prices it should be better, no matter what. Been there before 2 years ago and at that time it was very good. Now we paid €20,- for 2 omelettes (1 that wasn't wanted) and 2 sparkling waters. Very disapointed, hope they will improve their quality and service before the season starts.
