Available only when low tide when you're walking from Praia dos Caneiros, check the times and height of tides before going there, if you miss low tide being on this beach you almost can't get out only way is to fight with strong ocean waves or using a very thin rope and risk falling of the cliff or being killed by rocks. No stairs here, no lifeguard, no restaurant or toilets, not children friendly or for people on wheelchair, no sunbeds or umbrellas quite few people. Almost impossible to find parking place nearby. Breathtaking views. Water bit cold but crystal clear. Watch out for toxic dangerous fish called Black Peter it can hide in sand and fierce attacks your legs if you have bad luck meeting this fish here, you won't die but you will need to stay in hospital. Good for a walk but don't stay long here because of tides and strong current. That's why we love it, its very wild beach with few people. If you want more civilisation I recommend Praia da Rocha, Praia Carvoeiro. If you miss nature...
Read moreDefinite gorgeous hike along cliffs. Similar to much of the Algarve, nothing really special here. The hike is not easy; lots of bush, loose rock, steep climbs, no groomed paths, no stairs, no rock steps, no boardwalk. Marked (look for 4x4 posts with rusty brown metal caps) but not very well. You will get a detour or two (not a big deal, there's a fence for private property along the hike).
Cliffs are high and steep and no fence. Beware. Lots of horse droppings. Some beaches have no access; others have a road and restaurant. All are pretty though. Views, the growl, roar and crash of the wave 100m below. The soft rock face slowly collapsing into sinkholes and arches.
At the top, white calcified shells embedded in rock, hint of where the sea used to be way back.
Definite thing to do in Algarve, plan for parking, no WCs and serious walking shoes, sun protection etc. And a...

🐠 The best way to access this beach is via Praia dos Caneiros. If you miss low tide you might not even be able to go here.
🧗♀️The other way to acces this beach is using a very thin rope down the cliff (about 5 meters high). But this is very difficult. As a young fit person I didn’t even dare to do so. I can’t imagine going 5 meters back up on this rope.. This access point is not child, elderly or people with mobility issues friendly!
❌ There are no stairs. That’s prolly why it’s secluded. There’s no lifeguards, toilets,...
