Our stay at Hotel Bricia Du Mar was great overall, the main highlights are the lovely pool/pool area, the amazing breakfasts and the rooms which had great AC and very comfy beds/pillows. Also extremely good black-out curtains which were great for getting a lie-in.||The reception staff were extremely helpful and the staff on breakfast were always welcoming. The pool area was very relaxing, and plenty of space and sun loungers for all the guests - we received pool towels from reception upon check-in which could be replaced daily if needed. The pool itself is quite cold (25 degrees) but refreshing with the heat (and you do get used to it!).||The location of the hotel is outside of Ferragudo itself, which we liked as it felt more relaxing and spacious compared to being in the village itself. The nearest beach was Praia du Mohle which was small, but not overly busy and had shade in areas until just after midday.|We were told the bus service on the main road opposite the hotel into the village only ran every hour, so Uber is the best option if you are wanting to go into the village (or if you have a car, then parking is free in the village but limited!). The hotel also had free, secure underground parking, sometimes full, but options on the street outside or near the restaurant.||We didn't have a room that had cooking facilities like others, and upon reflection, we should have chosen this option to give more flexibility (it did make our room feel nice and big though!).|The room was as shown in the images, large bed, a sofa bed, small table and two chairs with a fridge. There were two good sized wardrobes, with hanging space (& hangers) with drawers and a safe. There was a mirror in the main room as well as a large mirror in the bathroom.||It was a great hotel to base ourselves for a week holiday, allowing day trips to other places in the Algarve and also within easy reach of Faro - upon checkout we were able to still use the pool and sun loungers/ shade, as well as toilets and showers until we left.||A few things to note however:|- the spa facilities are an additional charge (not overly clear on the website, and a bit disappointing to find this out on arrival) - but free if you also purchase a treatment|- there is only a bodywash/shampoo mix offered in the bathrooms, so bring your own products (annoying if you only have hand luggage!)|- the room servicing timings varied each day, so you couldn't really plan around it (on one day we came back in the afternoon (3-4pm) after being out and wanted showers/chill in the AC but the cleaning team were just getting to our room so had to quickly vacate!|We were provided with a bottle of water in our room when we first arrived, however this wasn't replenished with room servicing, so best to get your own and store in the fridge in the room.|- our evening dining experience of the restaurant attached to the hotel was pretty woeful (slow service, most of the menu unavailable due to a grill chef not being there) and it didn't have any sort of atmosphere, unless you count music blaring from a speaker and harsh lighting as atmosphere.|||On the whole, great hotel but some finer tuning to make it a truly...
Read moreA great family stay at this lovely little hotel, wanted a quite break away from the crowds and noise and this plate hit the nail on the head. (Its 50 minutes private transfer form Faro Airport) there is no entertainment of a night and the only bar at the hotel closes at 18:00 so just keep that in mind. there is a great restaurant opposite (The Piano Garden Restaurant) which does Pizzas and Indian food (which I have also reviewed) which was great (closed on Tuesdays). the town is a 20 minute walk (down hill) with a few restaurants and bars but if its too hot or you just don't fancy walking then its 4 euros in an Uber. The main beach is a similar distance but there are also little alcoves that you can find down the road opposite to the hotel although these are also a 10 minute walk with plenty of steps to get you down to the beach so be prepared! The rooms were lovely and spacious with a little kitchen, fridge and microwave and the AC was ice cold.... We went 24/05/2025 and the best thing was that you ALWAYS got a bed around the pool no matter what time you went however not sure if this will be the case if you go in peak times!! The gym steam room and sauna was great with all the equipment you could want and was never busy. Again the breakfast didn't have a massive selection but did have the usual hot breakfast options as well as fresh fruit, pastries, yogurts, pancakes etc as well as tea coffees and and selection of fruit juice and was never too busy. I my opinion a great, clean family friendly hotel with all you need for a...
Read moreThis isn’t worth a four star rating, unfortunately. I arrived early since I had an early flight. The girl at the reception desk shouted at me “What are you doing here it is not check-in time”. I know but before wandering off I like to let you know that I arrived.
A week before my stay I send an email to the reception desk, about my gluten free diet. The same lady from the reception replied that it was a buffet breakfast and no worries. When I saw the buffet, first of all it isn’t worth 4 stars, very poor. Only good thing was the fresh fruit. No variety at all, day in out the same. There were no gluten free options at all. On the second day I asked the girl and she informed the manager of the restaurant and he had no idea, there was some bread available, nothing special. He did apologise and when I tolded him that I did inform them, he told me the place was recently taken over, and some old habits need to change.
The restaurant itself was without any atmosphere I didn’t ate there in the evening.
The location is on walking distance of the village and beaches, perfect.
It wasn’t really a hotel, it looked more like small apartments to me. Unfortunately you can hear your neighbours use the toilet. Now the place was half empty but in high season it must be even louder.
The room was kept very clean all looked new and well mentained. Only the bed is in front of the window so you always need to close the curtains. When you are in your room people can tell then the light outside is on. It felt...
