I came to this place looking for a library where I could work.
I must say it wasn't productive at all: There's only a few tables and many of them don't have power plugs. I have no ideia how this is possible, but it makes absolutely no sense. I saw people walking in and out because they couldn't find a free plug. Fortunately I had battery on my laptop. It's a very noisy environment. People regularly come in and start talking out loud with the librarians. The librarians, not only accept this behaviour, but many time respond the same way! It's the only library I have seen where this happens.
You can see tax money invested in this place, and it's a shame that they can't invest in buying a few more plugs and imposing the silence expected...
Read moreRelatively new library branch, with a good selection of Portuguese literature and children’s books, and a tiny selection of current affair magazines and newspapers. Lockers, a small patio and clean bathrooms are a plus.
Sadly, many patrons are not up to speed on how to behave at a public library, talking on the phone, chatting loudly non-stop, etc. Shockingly the librarians not only ignore this unacceptable behavior, but also do the same. It’s a real shame.
If you plan to work at this branch keep in mind that the internet is so slow that it’s pretty much unusable, so plan ahead.
