Firstly, for the English version, the audio and hearing experience was terrible. The whole experience is ruined by the headphones being very cheap. It hurts your ears and the sound quality is just bad. I expect atleast to have surround sounding headphones, not the one which pinches your ear drums!
The audio within the theatre is supposed to be "360", but all I heard was from one side, which wasn't feeling natural at all. I am very sure regardless of the session you choose, audio experience will not change!
The staff didn't explain the fact that there are different sessions availalbe (its a mistake on my side as well for not researching enough)
But the session i watched was just not worth at all (Life of Charles Darwin) This content is obsolete interms of graphics and visuals! It was merely a cartoon show played under 360Degree viewing experience. What's the point in playing that inside a planetarium? I wouldn't recommend anyone for this session. You can watch something much better on YouTube or other platforms.
The information shared on musuem pieces are not available in English (while its not a big deal to just translate using your mobile device) I expect a touristy place to have most common languages.
Overall, considering the session I happen to choose (without knowing there was a choice), the experience was just trash and...
Read moreI recently visited the Planetário de Lisboa and it turned out to be a relaxing and educational experience, perfect for both adults and kids who are curious about space. Located near the Jerónimos Monastery and the Maritime Museum, this planetarium offers a peaceful escape into the stars through guided shows projected onto a large dome ceiling. The visual presentation was engaging and easy to follow, covering constellations, planets, and the broader universe in a way that felt both informative and calming. The staff were friendly and seemed genuinely passionate about astronomy, which added a nice human touch to the visit. The space itself is not very large, but it’s well maintained and organized. The entrance fee is quite reasonable, making it a budget-friendly option for families or anyone looking to spend a quiet hour learning something new. It’s not a high-tech experience compared to other modern planetariums, but it has a nostalgic charm and still delivers an inspiring message about our place in...
Read moreI recently visited the Navy Planetarium with my family to attend a session aimed at children aged 6 to 11.
While the projection quality was good and the audio was acceptable, there were a few aspects that made the experience less enjoyable than we hoped.
Firstly, the host's narration was monotone and lacked enthusiasm, which made it difficult for my 7 year old to stay engaged. While my 4 year old said he enjoyed it and asked if we could return, he was always asking when it would end.
Secondly, while the €18 price for a family of 4 isn't expensive, I'm not sure it was worth the money.
Finally, the ticket purchasing process was frustrating. It took us over 40 minutes to buy tickets. The fact that they can only be purchased in person, and at least 30 minutes before the session, is quite inconvenient.
Despite my 3 star review, I still recommend visiting the Planetarium. They recently upgraded the projector and I believe they strive to provide a...
