Ok, this is by far the worst beach for this out of all of them in and around Quarteira-Villamoura. You can only park if you have a lot of change, because you can't pay by card in the machines and there are not a lot of free parking places. The port is being expanded, or something is being worked on, you can hear the hum of the working and construction all the way you are here. We asked about renting the sunbeds directly at the entrance, according to the posted table it is 14.5 Euros for half a day. The area is know for its fish dishes and if you go down some of the side streets there are plenty of restaurants that have amazing food and a lot cheaper than the ones with the beach views.
The marina is around 15-20 minutes walk and has loads of restaurants, bars, boat tours and excursions, arcades for children and a street market.
A very family oriented area with many from the North of Portugal coming to the Algarve for their summer holidays.

One really bad incident we had was on the road between Vilamoura and Quarteira, the asphalt has melted or was not done properly that left lumps like small pyramids on the road.
