The Teleferico de Gaia gives you a beautiful view of Gaia and Porto. You start on the Gaia side where you get in an enclosed cable car and head up to the top of the hill and are dropped off at end of the Ponte Luís (a beautiful bridge made by Mr. Eiffel of the Eiffel Tower). Along the way you get a beautiful view of the houses on both sides, and the river below with lots of boats and other stuff.
We got off at the top and walked across the bridge and around to the church on the other side, and there's also a really cool monastery you should check out before you get back on the Teleferico.
It costs €8 per person for a there and back trip, definitely worth the money as you can get out at the top and explore around and get back...

We didn’t need to purchase tickets in advance and managed to buy them quickly, boarding soon after. The trip lasted a few minutes and offered a good view of Porto. The price was a bit on the steep side though at €7 per adult single or €10 return. We opted for a one way trip. Can’t help thinking that the owners are missing a trick here as people are more likely to accept walking down than paying such...

After you take transportation of your choice to the Gaia District and you thoroughly walked through the outdoor markets and had some local wines, then the cable cars are a must-thing-to-do if you want to walk across the famous bridge!
The cable cars take you on a smooth journey along the riverfront as you slowly increase elevation over time until you reach the top of the cables where you will exit the cable car. This exit is very close to the South end of the bridge where you can begin your memorable stroll across the upper level of the bridge with absolutely mesmerizing views of the Gaia and River districts on either side...
