Last Christmas we visited a place in Berlin called Labyrinth Kindermuseum. My 4 year old had so much fun. When we came back to Doha we hoped there would be something like this experience here. Lo and behold, here comes CurioCITY!
The pictures of this place don't do it any justice. Nor do they represent the size of this place. As we enter we were greeted by friendly staff. We paid for 1 hour, took our shoes off and got straight into the fun!
I don't know where to start. This whole place is educational. There are water activities and electricity activities and whirlpools and gravity toys. There are mock kitchens, dress up areas, construction areas, a strawberry ball pit and so much more. The whole place is laid out like a beautifully, polished wooden playground , where you and your kids could run and slide and jump and bounce and swing. Each educational activity also has a little description of what it is, so you learn as you go.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Even when I got lost trying to find the place, they helped me over the phone. The place is immaculately clean. The staff mingled amongst the kids, enticing them to play all sorts of games including huge puzzles and even a fencing game!
One of the best things about CurioCITY is they cater to Special Needs kids, which was perfect for my son. There was nothing that was too overwhelming, loud or bright. All the sounds were made by the happy kids! They also have a different rate for special needs kids.
We drove about 20 minutes to the Pearl and got lost for about 30 minutes trying to find this place. It was well worth it. I would highly recommend this place if you have kids. Hyperactive kids, special needs kids, kids who love sensory and tactile activities. All Kids. CurioCITY is the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was expecting curiocity playground in Pearl, to become the right place for my kids and their friends in spending their free time with a creative way. But nice places need also nice people-stuff to work in, care about children and love what they do. Today I was totally disappointed with the attitude of the employee in the reception of the curiocity playground. My kids 4 and 2 years old couldnāt use any of the facilities because a number of 5-6 boys around 10 years old were running after each other like crazy, pushing, climbing and jumping in a way that no one else could use any of the facilities specially if you were in the age of my kids. When I requested from the receptionist to ask the kids to calm down or to be careful because of younger kids playing around, she told me in a very impolite way āthis is the meaning of the playgroundsā!!! I paid 130 qar for my both kids for two hours and the answer I got was place until I will be back. My daughter after a while started worrying about and started looking for me. She went to the exit asking where her mother is. That moment I just came back from the toilet and again the same lady told meā next time keep your eyes on both of your kidsā! Excuse me??? I took both of my kids and I left and the only thing I promised is I will never gonna take my kids back to this horrible place. Not only me but all of my friends that have kids all over the Pearl! The HR management next time should be more careful in choosing the right people for this place. Definitely for this person they have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWonderful place for kids. Many different activities due them to engage in: there is a water area where they can push levers or rotate wheels to different effects, there is climbing and balancing on knitted nets (3 levels of it ending in some huge balloons at the top), small trampoline, digital wall painting game, instruments to play, cars to drive, sand pit (being extra clothes it can get very messy), 2 high slides, a soft play area, a āball pitā but with strawberries instead of balls š, numerous pretend play stations, dress up area, etc. etc. Honestly your kids will never ever want to leave. The only downside I see is that it is ridiculously expensive: 1 h is 125 qrs and an additional 30 min is 60 qrsā¦. Even worse babies as young as 6 months old need to pay and thatās just UNFAIR! Most of the activities cannot be enjoyed by kids who cannot walk yet and even then for new walkers only about half the activities are appropriate! Really to charge babies entrance for nothing thatās just GREEDY! Thatās my reason for giving it 4 stars. Also grippy socks make the play areas more safe, so I highly recommend them for the kids and the moms that want to...
