Interski - Închirieri + Școală ski & snowboard Poiana Brașov | RENTAL & SCHOOL — Attraction in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

TLDR: Paid 550 RON (~122 USD) for 2 hours, left feeling used, like I was a mobile atm.

Pros: Friendly front desk staff, last minute booking available, decent equipment.

Cons: Didn't feel like value for money; near severe accident caused by instructor

Background: First time skier, foreign, busy professional, decided to try out skiing for first time.

Foreword: I know many reviews are from local Romanians but I hope this helps foreign clients who are interested in trying out skiing for the first time, and who do not have time to visit a ski resort every single winter.

Details: showed up at 8.40am for a 9am appointment. After paying rental fees for equipment amounting to 190 RON and finishing fitting by 9am, I was paired with an instructor at around 9.10am. Instructor was strictly booked for 9-11am for 360 RON. Instructor told me how to hold the skis properly to not hit other people, then subsequently bent down and swung his skis, thankfully just scraping my upper lip. A little lower or higher and I would have lost either my teeth or my eye (and I would've been in a hospital for the remainder of my holiday). I was considering asking for a refund or a change of instructor until he apologized.

Queued to buy a ski pass. Took about 20 minutes. Including 5-10 mins toilet break, plus more time for acquaintance/walking to the actual ski location, I estimate around 1 hour 10 mins of actual lessons out of the 2 hours I paid. I'm not sure about skiing but for my comparable horse riding, archery, diving lessons etc.: 2 hours meant 2 hours of actual, serious instruction.

Instructor review: was a great personal skier (based on his videos and he also displayed good balance on the ski slopes), but not so good as an instructor. He lost patience even though he knew I was a middle-aged, first-time skier and kept complaining that i panicked, even though he said he had worse clients than me. I was trying my best and I told him I could not afford to get injured overexerting myself due to my demanding job, esp heading into 2024. He kept checking his phone around 1.5 hours in to ask me if I wanted to extend, as he had to be back at 11am sharp due to the center booking his next appointment. (Which meant that I wouldn't even get 2 hours with him, including all the other time-wasting activities like buying a ski pass, carrying the equipment to the slopes etc.). And this was after he nearly maimed me within 5 mins of getting acquainted.

I tried skiing and it wasn't for me (I know my balance isn't good). But due to the experience I went through (treated like a cash cow) - it was made worse. I tried other sports both successfully and unsuccessfully and I know that the instructor plays a big role in how you feel at the end of the lessons, regardless of the outcome (whether you decide to pursue it further or not).

(I will not name the instructor as I believe it is the center's responsibility to both set standards (e.g. paid timing only counts when the student and instructor is ready at the ski slope) and quality check the instructors but the center is free to pm me for further...

I recently went with my 3 year old son and my wife to a short skiing holiday in Poiana Brasov. We chose InterSki for their rental equipment and ski school for the entire holiday, at a very affordable rate. I would like to thank to all the staff that works there for their help, professionalism and friendliness. When we got there we were immediately greeted by Coco at the reception and one of the technicians, with a warm welcome. Straight away we got geared up with everything we needed and headed to the slope in no time.

The ski instructor Vlad Bibea took very good care of my little kid who never had any contact before with skiing techniques. After only 2 sessions, my little man was able to manage the beginners slope by himself, skiing without any help, which is AMAZING! Thank you so much Vlad!

An Unforgettable Ski Experience – 10/10!

From start to finish, our ski trip with Interski was absolutely incredible. Every staff member was beyond helpful, making the experience smooth and enjoyable. However, I have to give special recognition to Cristian, our ski instructor.

Cristian is nothing short of exceptional—his patience, expertise, and years of experience made all the difference. Thanks to his incredible teaching skills, we achieved far more than we ever expected. Within just two days, we were confidently skiing from the very top of the mountain!
