Aurora is a Russian protected cruiser, currently preserved as a museum ship in Saint Petersburg. Aurora was one of three Pallada-class cruisers, built in Saint Petersburg for service in the Pacific. All three ships of this class served during the Russo-Japanese War.

🚢 Aurora Cruiser: A Russian Tourist Attraction

After waiting in line for approximately 47 minutes from 2:30 PM, we finally entered the Aurora around 3:30. The ticket price for foreigners was 1,000 rubles, while Russian residents paid 600 rubles. There are also special rates for groups, people with disabilities, and retirees. (It takes around 30 mns to roam around the ship but if you’re interested it would take double the time). The ship itself is beautifully preserved. it’s clear that great care is taken with its upkeep, from the fresh paint to its cleanliness. Stepping aboard felt like traveling back in time, offering a fascinating glimpse into what naval ships of the past were like. As someone who loves history & vintage treasures, I truly appreciated this opportunity and am thankful to Russia for preserving such an iconic piece. At last, The only unfortunate thing is that there was nothing explained in English, so I had to take photos in order to translate, to understand the information. Exploring the interior was both educational and captivating. Visitors can see how naval soldiers once lived, including the spaces they worked in and even the utensils they ate with. It’s an experience I’m glad to have had, & I’m happy to share some photos from my visit.
