Sacred Heart Cathedral — Attraction in Chiang Mai Province

Mass hours:

Sundays: 6:30 am (in Thai) 8:30 am (in Thai) 11 am (in English) 6 pm (in Thai) Saturday evening: 7 pm (in Thai, Sunday Mass) Monday to Friday: 7 pm (in Thai, at Blessed Sacrament Chapel, on the right). MANY WEBSITES OR POSTS REPORT 7:30 PM, BUT IT IS MANY YEARS THAT IS 7 PM!!!

Many people generally ask for information for Christmas Eve Mass, that usually is at 10:30 pm (even some minutes before), in Thai. Please come earlier, to find a seat. Only in 2016 the Mass was two hours before, because of king's death mourning. For English Mass (Christmas Eve), there is only at Seven Fountains (their website is well updated in terms of informations).

There is English Mass at 11 am at Sacred Heart Cathedral both in Christmas and 1st of January. Other solemnities, that are also day of obligation, are moved to the next Sunday, here in Thailand.

Lovely church architecture. And friendly parishioners too. There is also a lovely Marian grotto where one can light a candle and offer up prayers. Great priests. Great choir. And I love the lone dog who lives there. He would always howl and sing along when the church's bell ring at 12pm. 😍

It was an interesting experience for me to see and participate in a mass in English (and in a foreign country). It had a great musical frame, and it was easy to follow thanks to the books with "subtitles" for everything that was said ;)
