The museum of Nadežda Petrović, one of the most prominent Serbian painters, and her brother Rastko, a writer and poet, is located in the family home of their sister, Ljubica, who generously donated Nadežda’s artistic legacy to the National Museum of Art on the condition that after her death a memorial museum of them would be established in her house.
Sadly it took four decades to fulfill her wish. Fortunately, three years ago, a thorough renovation began, and today there is a charming space in the beautiful neighborhood of the Professors’ Colony in Belgrade.
The museum is only two months old, and while its collection is still scarce, the staff are true enthusiasts. I wish this house all the best and hope it will host many inspiring events in...
