My ten year old son had a blast at CTSC today and although he didn’t go with friends, he never got bored. Every hour there was also a show or activity which was both fun and informative. The reason I am giving three stars is that the parking area is small and was full when we arrived so we had to park outside the premises and that wasn’t ideal. I also brought my baby daughter along, unaware that there was no lift. This means it isn’t wheelchair friendly (keep this in mind if you want to access with a wheelchair) and for those with babies, you would have to carry your stroller up a flight of stairs. Another reason for the three stars is that although it’s great they have a cafe on the premises, the restaurant staff were a bit dizzy. They repeated my order incorrectly several times and even once it was correctly placed, I got a cheese sandwich and not the cheese and tomato I had wanted. My flat white also arrived cold and my sparkling water was room temperature. In their defence, my son REALLY loved the chicken pops and chocolate croissant. Overall, a good day out where learning and...

Small science centre with enough activities to keep kids occupied for a couple of hours. Where it shines is in the holiday programmes and for kids’ birthday parties, which include a science show with very enthusiastic and engaging demonstrators.

Not all of the exhibits and equipment are available to play with every day. (Though I saw another review that said the construction site play area was empty — I think they didn’t realise that you have to build the walls before you knock them down! All the stuff is there.) And it’s not really aimed at grownups.

The other downsides are a small parking lot and that it can be raucous on a rainy day when it’s full of kids.

Overall though, if you take it for what it offers — a way to entertain the kids while growing their brains — it’s a very...

So much to do, we spent almost all of Saturday. Kids have been running around having fun, went for free Camera Obscura tour and participated in the paleontology demonstration and watched the science experiment show. Watched the planetarium show for R5 each, played a VR game for R5 each. Staff were friendly and helpful. Café is convenient but I packed snacks to eat at the tables. No ramp access, I carried our lightweight pram up the flight of stairs, I don't mind but would probably be inconvenient for some. I'll probably carry the folded up pram and baby in arms next time. For R80 per person over 3yo, I think it was well worth it, but will most probably be taking a yearly membership as we are definitely coming back. Also free entry 1-6 August 2022,...

Looking for a fun, educational, and toddler-friendly activity in Cape Town? The Cape Town Science Centre is the perfect spot! Open on weekends and packed with interactive exhibits, it’s great for little explorers (especially if yours thinks he’s Blippi 😂). We wandered, played, and even got a private spider tour! 🎟️ R95 for adults, R70 for kids 3+, and under-3s go free. Just maybe skip the stroller unless you’re ready for an arm workout! 💪🏽 Other than that, 10/10 from me #CapeTownWithKids #FamilyFun #ToddlerAdventures #ThingsToDoInCapeTown #ScienceForKids #KidsActivitiesCapeTown #EducationalPlay #ParentLife #IndoorPlay #WeekendFun #ExploreWithKids #MomLife #ScienceMuseum #CapeTownMoms #ToddlerLife #KidsWhoExplore"
