The Armchair Theatre — Restaurant in Observatory

Went out for the “free” karaoke which was very disappointing. It is advertised as “free” but actually you only get to participate in the karaoke if you purchase the vodka ice tea special which was not mentioned in the flier but rather hidden in the lengthy caption on instagram. Even though my friends and I purchased many drinks we were unable to participate as we had not purchased the special. It also seemed like the people who were repeatedly participating had not even purchased the special but rather were allowed to participate due to knowing the staff members. When we spoke to the manager nothing was done to resolve the issue. We had put our names down shortly after arriving at 7pm and by 23:30 we had still not been called to sing - whereas the same 5/6 people had been called multiple times. When we spoke to the manager about it he said “karaoke only starts at 10” notwithstanding that your flier on instagram says it starts at 7pm. Only go to the karaoke night if you’re ready to watch the same 5 people sing all night as you will not be able to perform unless you are friends with the staff...

Where do I start? This place has been my solice and party place for a few years now, the owners are wonderful people, engaging and attentive. It's LGBTQ friendly and you'll meet all kinda of intriguing people. Plenty of space in all areas to vibe whether you wanna play pool, chill at the bar or outside for a ciggie and conversations.

The staff is incredible, big ups to my two main ladies Heather and Pascaline. These women can run the whole place at full capacity! The food is incredible, burgers and pizzas are my favourite and if you're not hungry just grab a bowl of affordable chips, skinny and crispy. The events keep the venue interesting and I honestly have never had any bad experiences there.

They are protective of all their patrons and if a problem arises it's solved! Shout out to Adam for keeping things chill and safe as well, the man works hard! Well there you go, Armchair, until the next ice...

If i could give this place -1000000 i would!! Such a nice venue awesome music RUDE ONWNER! My bf went into the ladiesrest room by accident, the bathroom was open so he didnt see the sign. The owner with tje ginger hair and beard made such a scene. Shouted aggressively at him and told him to leave th venue,no problem leaving the venue it was th way he handled the situation and shouted in front of all his clients. We just ordered our drink and told him we wanted to finish it as we paid for it as my bf took a sip he took the glass vigorously out of his hands.
