Heart of Cape Town Museum — Attraction in Cape Town Ward 57

This was phenomenal! I LOVED IT!! Thanks to tour guides Len and Cindy, who were extremely friendly and helpful, with knowledge coming out of their ears. It is evident that they enjoy their work thoroughly and spend personal time searching for more tidbits on the infamous Dr Barnard and his crew. They personally met him and have spoken to several nurses who actually assisted in the operation itself. The amount of information and knowledge they posses is mesmerising. This museum is incredible. Being able to stand in the very room the first heart transplant was performed is life changing. I want to be a surgeon though so my opinion is biased. Regardless though, the museum is thorough in providing all the information about the relevant people and provides all the facts surrounding the transplant and Christ Barnard himself. It also gives credit to everyone involved and not just Christ Barnard, who was the surgeon who performed the transplant. Our guide was very knowledgeable and willing to answer our many questions. I went to this museum with my friends. When you are not local you really need to pay a lot of money which is kind of unfair but the men who was working there was so nice and friendly. He helped us with everything and gave us a special tour. He really made our visit special. All in all the museum is very interesting. I came out much more clever than before.
