Read moreWild Waters apparently reopened in October 2024. We decided to give them a try, having never been to a waterpark in JHB, let alone WW.
Upon arrival, there is a big parking space with what seems to be a dump site at the back. I'd try park away from there if I were you.
Tickets are R150 per person and kids under 6 are free entrance. However, kids under 6 are limited to the one pool area with one twist slide and 2 small slides at the shallowest end. Okay, I understand to a degree, but it was a big disappointment for my youngest who is near 5 to hear he couldn't do any of the river rides or others. In the place there are only 5 rides total.
We arrived around 11am. By 2pm it was packed and getting busier. There is a bar and shop for toys, drinks, food, snacks but it is INCREDIBLY overpriced - a big rip off actually. You will do better to bring your own food and/or can braai there too.
They also didn't seem to know how to serve shots, and the tequila we ordered was warm 🫠🫠🫠
It seems to be Chinese owned now, and I really hope they are going to give it the refresh it deserves Rides need maintenance and repainting big time. The lawns are quite beautiful and decently maintained. There is only one person blowing up tubes for the whole place which is insane, especially when one notes how busy it gets. Also, they seemed to be trying to limit water - the super tube had people getting "stuck" as there isn't enough water to push for the most part
Overall we had a good time and the overall atmosphere was cool. It's like if you were at the beach - you need to watch your stuff too. There are lockers available for smaller items to be kept - R100 per locker and they give you R50 back at the end of the day
There is also supposed to be Adventure golf and a train ride included in your ticket price - none of these happened. I didn't even see the train and the golf/putt putt looked old, sad, and dead.
There's also a restaurant that looks like it hasn't operated in years - closed up and dead looking
Honestly hoping the place gets a beautiful revamp.

Read moreMy experience there was as if I am dealing with people that just want your money and don’t care at all after that. I arrived there today at around 12h00.. Rain and thunderstorms started after a few minutes and the chased every body out of pools. We could only use one slide. We went out to eat as it was raining. We came back at 3h50. Working hours supposed to be until 5 but actually they stop at 4. We again only had chance to do the same slide but the queue was long. When I arrived at 3h50, people were all asking for wave but they did nothing When I spoke to some one called herself manager she said there is a time table for wave and last one was at 3h20. If people miss it because of rain, they do not change their time table!! I asked for refund or free entry another day and her answer was just sorry and she cannot do anything, no refund nor free entry. I had bought the ticket online last night. The weather forecast was not rainy at all. When I arrived it was raining. When I went to the ticket selling office to print the wristbands, I asked them if I must use the tickets today, they said yes. The lady manager said she must use the camera in the office to believe me. I wouldn’t go...
