Birchwood Spur — Restaurant in Gauteng

What a bad experience we had last night at Birchwood spur. We arrived around 21:30 to come and wine and dine our self. As we walked in we wear not greeted. We went straight to the outside and waited 10 min to get some menu's. We then told the waiter Lebo the Male waiter to please bring our drinks as well as our starters. As we waited 7 to 10 min later our drinks arrive with half of the crockery that was suppose to be given with. We had to ask for salt , lemons,and a glass of ice. Because the 2x tins of coke was hot.

After a few min later our starter's and mains arrived. Wear we asked for a full natchos and chicken snitchel, sicken livers but only got the top up chicken livers and not the normal size livers as we asked.

So we left it their. 5 min later the same waiter came to us telling us the kitchen is closing at 10. And do we need anything else so that he can get our bill for us. So I told him NO becuse we got hear before 10 . And we oderd before10 and now he is deciding for us when we want the bill. He was so dam rude and giving my husband a cokky attitude. I mean if you want to go home then go but don't rush your customer, that brings money in for the Spur.

Not just that when we got up to go pay our bill the manager Spehe did say sorry. But also to find on our bill half of the items we oder from the rude waiter was on our bill but never given to us on our table. I the said I'll pay for what we had and I'll not pay for the rest. Wear the rude waiter told me I have e had all the items and I told him would you like me to go with you and your manager to show your point wrong on your camers. He then just grind and said he doesn't care if we come again or not an all of the Bitchwood spur staff heard him. Myself and my husband and friend. As well as your manager on duty. And your cameras.

The waiter we had. Was rude, nasty with words, and had no cutercy what so ever I will never ever eat their again . As I was one of the regulars their.. I will tell every person I meet and more how the waiters their have no manners no discipline and no cutercy what's so ever.

Birchwood Spur you had me my children and friends and my self and husband as regulars. Now you will have less then what you have had. Never ever ever again. Service ...

Firstly I would really have loved to give Birchwood spur 5 star rating if only the waitresses /waitrons really cared about customer service and represented this place with the class that it deserves. This place is beautiful, the location is great, the play area for the kids splendid BUT with all due respect these new waitresses appointed since 2020 wow can really make you feel like you are a begger waiting for free food rather than a customer. I for one wouldn't have complained here publicly if this was a once off incident. I loved going to this spur especially also because my boy loves playing here. But last time I went the waiter sat me down, brought me the menus and never ever returned. I waited, and waited until I called another waiter who was just passing by to assist me. I was so angry I never wanted to return there again but I thought well Mybe it was just a bad day. Today after I had fetched my son from school we headed there again after all we just love the place. Oh my God is it bad luck for me or what, the waiter sat me down, brought me the 3 menus for the kid, the wines and the food but guess what she disappeared again never to return, I just sat there like a statue for almost half an hour until the new manager Buttie who was just passing by asked if I was OK and I told him am still waiting that lady and she did not return he had to serve me himself. Even the lady that looks after the kids by the play area can attest to these incidents as we always sit outside and she had seen this happening. what happened to the service we used to get am so so disappointed. As a loyal customer who comes to your establishment every Sunday morning for breakfast I'm almost at the point where I'll take my business elsewhere. Your consistency is none existent. Some days you get a wonderful meal and sometimes it just plain sucks. Take this morning for instance. Me and Captain evil ordered exactly the same dish with mine the exception of an added pork sausage. Comes our breakfast and we might as well have ordered from two different restaurants. Her breakfast had like 5 fries (not crispy as requested by her). Mine on the other hand had a mountain of fries (still not crispy) and was swimming in oil. Eggs were not over easy but sunny side up and to top it all there was a lovely black hair adorned across the top of my egg. Don't they check the food before it leaves the kitchen. The manager B was very helpful and changed the plate for me but on the return the eggs were again sunny side up. I was so hungry I just ate and left. Why don't they weigh the chips portions so that one person don't get 5 fries and the other a hell of a lot more. Consistency is key and checking the food before it gets to the table as well.
