During my recent trip to Johannesburg, I had the pleasure of staying at the Mint Hotel 84 on Katherine. From the moment I arrived, the staff at the hotel went above and beyond to ensure I had a seamless and enjoyable stay.Upon landing at the airport, the hotel staff had already arranged transport to collect. This thoughtful gesture made my arrival in a new city much less stressful. It was evident that they truly cared about their guests and wanted to provide the best possible experience.As I entered my room, I was pleased to find it impeccably clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The room also offered the convenience of room service, allowing me to enjoy a delicious meal from the comfort of my own space.One of the standout features of the Mint Hotel 84 on Katherine is its fantastic location. Situated in a prime area, it was conveniently close to many attractions and amenities. Whether I wanted to explore the vibrant city center or relax at the mall, everything was just a stone's throw away. We first arrived the room AC wasnt working and the gent came to overlook and couldnt fix and suggested ested we get an extra blanket . Like seriously
We then asked to change rooms ,which should have been offered from the start. This morning to my surprise the reception lady calls at 11 am saying its time to go or you paying extra .when she called i was just about to shower and get ready i leave for 12 . I had to leave not bathed so i dont get charged extra for that 1 hour. Went down to reception the other lady with braids showed no remorse to the situation and no answered as per why they email says 12 and not th time she is tellin me . All this was never stated upon our arrival why? And yes we did not ask as the email started our which i will attach itinerary It is a huge inconvenience for me and very upset and annoyed at how this situation turned out for me to walk out a place we paid for without even taking a shower. Read moreI had a terrible experience at this hotel. I made a reservation clearly stating that I’m booking “out of Africa” because I’d like to make use of the pool. My son and I arrived and the pool was dirty, even after Maintence arrived and said it would be clean the next morning - we woke up to a dirty pool. I even paid for late departure so we can use the pool when it’s eventually clean, when we checked out our pool was still dirty. The room service number that is on the fridge doors doesn’t even work- we had to walk all the way to the restaurant to get R/S. our complimentary platter arrived 3hours after we checked in and this was only because I had asked about it. The restaurant couldn’t accommodate my son by making porridge for him, even though there’s pap on the menu- we were told to wait until after a big table has eaten. When we went down to reception to collect an order for the food that we waited for an hour for , the big table hadn’t even started eating and were only getting their drinks. No one has apologised for how my son were treated during our stay. All we got was the receptionist saying he’s not even going to ask how our stay was when we were checking out. We didn’t even get to swim and that’s the only reason I reserved out of Africa!...
