Park Inn by Radisson Sandton — Hotel in Gauteng

I was in Johannesburg for a week to celebrate Christmas and 2020 New Year and decided to redeem my Skywards points from Emirates – a couple of options were made available to me but I chose Park Inn by Radisson Sandton. I felt it was in the safest locations, among the international offices in a convenient location.| |I stayed on the highest floor in a superior room, and never heard a noise except for people going in and out of their rooms. The rooms are immaculately clean and laundry was always returned early. There are electrical outlets and USB ports without need for adapters.| |There are bell staff in front of the hotel to welcome guests and arrange for complimentary hourly shuttle service to the famous Nelson Mandela Square and the popular Sandton City Shopping Centre.| |Room service via RBG Bar & Grill was speedy and good. The breakfast was consistent and highlighted by fresh delicacies and plenty of fruits. Hotel service was wonderful – the staff were friendly and there was a feeling that everyone was trying their best. A special note of thanks for the excellent hospitality goes out to John at the front desk.| |I checked out Rocketmiles (partner hotels booking site for Emirates Skyward members) before arriving in Johannesburg, and based on their location and feel, will definitely choose stay here again over the other hotels.| |Thank you Park Inn by Radisson Sandton for a very blissful stay for Christmas...

Edit: after reading my review, management has still not called me or emailed me to ask how they can improve or to compromise. I am looking to book a hotel again next week, yet they reply with no intention to better themselves. Absolutely pathetic. Please email me the board's mail addresses.

Would not book here again. The room is neat although very poorly designed with no bathroom door and very cramped space. The staff were not helpful when I had an issue with my booking. The worst part is that the managers do NOT care enough go give you the time of day. I had waited day in and day out for the Reservation Manager to call me yet she didn't. They obviously do not value their guests. They didn't have the decency to say that they were renovating the gym before we arrived. They also did not want to compromise or meet me halfway on an issue that I had with my booking. Very disappointed and would much rather pay the extra money and book at Garden Court. The rooms are clean although the cleaners do not clean 100%. The price that you pay is not worth it for such bad amenities. They need to learn management skills as they are clearly lacking in this department. Even after this review, the reservation manager will still not call me. Please only consider this if you...

When we arrived at the hotel on Monday afternoon, we were told that we could not check in as our stay was not paid for. After explaining how the account gets paid through our company we waited for 30mins for them to solve the issue.

The Tuesday morning I made myself a cup of coffee in my room just to find the same dirty spoon still in my room the Tuesday evening when I had returned.

The Wednesday night we were told we could not have supper at the restaurant as there is no food in the kitchen after being seated for 20mins. After asking how is this possible we were allowed to order supper, which tasted terrible and really not worth the money we had to pay.

The Wednesday morning we were also informed that breakfast was not included in our stay.. after we had breakfast there the Tuesday morning with no complications. After showing them our booking which states "buffet breakfast included" they then said it's fine we can now enjoy our breakfast.

Wednesday evening when I returned to my room I also found my dirty coffee cup and spoon still in my room where I left it.

The hotel room has no shower caps or hairdryers for guests.

The service we received at this hotel was terrible and I will definitely never refer this hotel to anyone or stay...
