Grand Josun Jeju — Attraction in Seogwipo-si

We stayed at the Grand Josun Jeju at the end of may for 3 nights, as we were in Korea for our honeymoon. We had booked the hotel back in January, and when we arrived, to our suprise and disappointment, we were informed that the Infinity Pool and the Hotel Bar at the rooftop are closed for renovation. And in spite of this, there were no alternatives offered by the hotel because of the closed bar. We werent able to enjoy a cocktail, which we were really looking forward to. Our expectation was that we would be able to chill and enjoy our time in the hotel day and night, but this proved not to be the case because of the closed facilities, which we were not informed about in advance. The available facilties for eating options were overpriced, and especially in the italian restaurant the food was not worth the price. (We tried the pasta and the pork). Breakfast buffet was good but also overpriced, I would have preferred less options instead of the around 50€ price. The sauna and the pool outside were nice, and warm despite the cooler temperature outside. But be warned if you are travelling as a couple, the hotel had a lot of families staying there with little kids, which might not be what you are looking for. The staff were super nice and helpful, especially when we had a small crisis situation when checking in (we had realized we left our credit card at a store), they immediately helped us without us asking, for which we are thankful for. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the bus station, and they have a pick up and drop off service, but only when you are checking in and out, and you need to request it in advance. Also its not an easy or short walk to the beach, it requires big retour.

All in all the hotel is nice looking, staff wants to be super helpful, but the facilities being closed, coupled with the high prices, made it not...

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights with our 1.5yo daughter and we had an amazing time! We stayed in the kid's wing on the 2nd floor. My daughter got her own bed and lots of welcome gifts. The room was so clean and had all of the amenities we needed. They had wonderful, thoughtful touches like kid's toiletries, robe and slippers, and a stool to access the sink/toilet. Housekeeping was very responsive and quick. We ordered room service and it was prompt and delicious.Access to the hotel's amenities was all free when we stayed there. Unfortunately, the rooftop pool was closed for construction but the garden pool was lovely. Our room included the breakfast buffet. It was mostly Western and Korean/Chinese cuisines, and the variety didn't change much from day to day, but the food was very delicious! Great selection of pastries and the coffee bar was awesome. They also have a convenience store on-site with a seating area for dining.My only recommendation is to have a car while staying here. The trek up the big hill to the hotel takes about 10 minutes and while it isn't terrible, it's tough after a long day. There are no bus stops on the hill, so you'd have to walk down to get to one. Once you're out of the grounds there are lots of shopping and restaurants nearby.Overall, we had a wonderful time. The hotel is very kid-friendly and staff and guests alike are very understanding of the challenges of travelling with small children. The staff were very kind and helpful and were a huge part of why we enjoyed our stay so much. If we're ever back in Jeju I'd love to...

I've been traveling for almost 20 years now and i really enjoy it, but unfortunately i can't give this accommodation more than 3 stars. And that's mainly because i booked one of the most expensive rooms: "King Suite with pool view". The spaciousness is undoubtedly good at around 97sq m, but the amenities are unfortunately just under average for a 5-star hotel. There's nothing more than a kettle and coffee machine. No other benefits for guests of this expensive room. And the worst thing, as other reviewers have already noted, the suite rooms in particular seem to have been inadequately cleaned; the entire terrace area outside was dusty, the beautiful lamps covered in dirt, and the windows hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I'm sorry, but for almost 700,000 KRW a day, i expect a bit more professionalism, and that starts with consistent cleaning of the rooms and outdoor areas. I found the staff to be always helpful, but since the clientele is primarily families with small children, anything else is probably unnecessary. I would have liked to see a bit more staff present at breakfast and dinner to answer questions or clear tables. All in all, anyone booking budget accommodation here will probably be among those who give positive reviews and won't complain about why you should pay extra money for the simple loungers at the rooftop pool. I have stayed in far better 5-star hotels so far.
