Located in Songpa District. Seokchon Lake is an artificial lake that was once part of the Han River. Today, it is one of the city’s most beloved recreational spots, directly connected to Lotte World. The lake is beautiful in all four seasons, but it is especially famous in spring when cherry blossoms bloom, making it one of the best cherry blossom destinations in Seoul.

📌 History Originally a branch of the Han River, Seokchon Lake took its current form during urban development in the 1970s and 80s. The lake is divided into East Lake and West Lake, and its surroundings have been developed into walking trails, cycling paths, cafes, and art installations for citizens to enjoy.

📌 Features & Highlights

Seasonal Beauty: In spring, cherry blossoms line the lakeside, creating a breathtaking scene. Summer brings lush greenery and fountains, autumn offers colorful reflections of fall foliage on the water, and winter provides a peaceful and romantic atmosphere.

Lotte World Tower View: From anywhere around the lake, visitors can enjoy spectacular views of the 123-story Lotte World Tower, blending modern Seoul with natural scenery.

Art & Events: Seasonal art installations and cultural events are often held here, especially during the spring cherry blossom festival.

Perfect Walking Course: The lakeside path is about 2.5 km, making it ideal for walking or jogging.

📌 How to Get There Easily accessible by subway: just a short walk from Jamsil Station (Line 2) or Seokchon Station (Line 8). Its proximity to Lotte World, Lotte Tower, and Lotte Mall makes it a great place to combine sightseeing, shopping, and dining.

🌿 Overall Seokchon Lake is a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city, offering both nature and relaxation. Visiting in spring during the cherry blossom season is especially unforgettable, as the flowers reflect beautifully on the water. A must-visit spot loved by both locals...

Seokchon Lake during full cherry blossom bloom was absolutely magical! The entire area was transformed into a breathtaking spectacle of pink and white against the backdrop of the clear sky. Walking along the lake, surrounded by the delicate blossoms, was a truly serene and unforgettable experience. The vibrant color and sweet scent filled the air, creating a truly picturesque atmosphere.

While the beauty was undeniable, the crowds were substantial. Peak season meant navigating through a large number of visitors, but it didn't detract too much from the experience. We found some quieter spots along the lake where we could take in the view and enjoy the tranquility. Overall, a visit to Seokchon Lake during full bloom is a must-do for anyone visiting Seoul during cherry blossom season. It's a vibrant reminder of nature's beauty and a...

We visited the park on a Thursday afternoon in mid-June. The park mainly consists of walking trails, greenery and benches. The park is long and thin, in an "8"-shape surrounding the 2 parts of Seokchon lake.

There were quite a few people walking and sitting around when we visited. The park is convenient and comfortable. The abundant greenery and proximity to the large lakes makes it very breezy and cool, while the many benches allow for comfortable seating.

There are also many paths leading outwards to the general city area, so it is convenient to enter and exit.

I very much enjoyed...
