Lotte Seoul Sky is an observation deck located in the Lotte World Tower, the tallest building in South Korea and the fifth tallest in the world. It is situated on the 117th to 123rd floors of the tower, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Seoul and beyond. On clear days, you can see landmarks like the Han River, Namsan Seoul Tower, and even the mountains surrounding the city. Seoul Sky features multiple observation decks with floor-to-ceiling windows and glass floors, allowing visitors to look straight down at the city from incredible heights. The Sky Deck on the 118th floor is particularly popular due to its transparent glass floor. There is also a Sky Terrace on the 120th floor, where you can step outside and enjoy an open-air experience. Visitors can enjoy interactive exhibits that provide information about Seoul and the tower's construction, as well as multimedia displays showcasing the city’s history and culture. The observation deck also has cafes and a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs. To reach the top, visitors take one of the fastest elevators in the world, which travels from the ground to the observation decks in just under a minute. The elevator ride itself is an experience, with digital displays inside the elevator showing the ascent. Tickets can be purchased at the tower or online, and it’s a good idea to book in advance to avoid long lines, especially on weekends and holidays. The best times to visit are early in the morning or late in the afternoon for sunset views, though nighttime visits offer spectacular views of Seoul’s illuminated skyline. The Lotte World Tower is located in the Songpa District, next to the Lotte World Mall and Lotte World Aquarium. The nearest subway station is Jamsil Station on Line 2 and Line 8, with clear signs directing you to the tower. Plan to spend about 1-2 hours at Seoul Sky to fully enjoy the experience.

Tldr: Beautiful view and cool super fast elevator ride, Quite pricey and kind of pushes you to buy pictures, acting like a tourist trap. Spectacular view from above, would most likely look even better at night time. The ride up the elevator is insanely fast, takes about 50 second to reach the 120th floor. Remember to constantly swallow to relieve ear pressure. It costs about €20 per person to enter, which is a bit expensive, and during the walk to the elevator there are stops where they take your pictures and behind a green screen. I believe there were two spots before the elevator, and once more after reaching the top. Up you have a 360° view of the city, along with binoculars you can pay to use, and there are some moveable screens that show you the landmarks, with the option of seeing how the area you're viewing looked in the past. There is a lounge, a café, an ice-cream place and a restaurant in the top 4 floors. Also a stand near the exit elevator to buy the photos you took earlier. You have to pick 3 photos, along with a single frame. They all look quite cringe and awkward, with the bad Photoshop background, and the price is kind of high. There is also an option to wear a harness and go outside on a 10 meter walkway, but I had no interest in that so no idea how much that costs. All in all, a very nice view and experience, but it's also a tourist trap that is a bit overpriced.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Seoul Sky at night, and I must say, the views were absolutely breathtaking. From the observation deck, the sprawling cityscape of Seoul glimmered with countless lights, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere that felt almost magical. It was a perfect night to take in the stunning skyline, and I found myself captivated by the beauty of the city illuminated against the dark sky. However, while the view was indeed remarkable, my overall experience was somewhat mixed. The environment felt a bit crowded, and I expected a little more in terms of engagement and activities. For such a renowned attraction, I anticipated some unique features or interactive elements that would elevate the experience. Instead, it felt more like a standard observation deck without any standout highlights. That said, if you are a fan of breathtaking views and photography, Seoul Sky is definitely worth a visit. The panoramic sights are perfect for capturing memorable moments. I would recommend visiting during sunset for a truly picturesque experience, as the transition from day to night is simply stunning. In conclusion, while the view at Seoul Sky was beautiful and worth seeing, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. It’s a nice stop on your Seoul itinerary, but don’t expect too much beyond the incredible scenery. I would suggest checking it out if you have the time, but keep your expectations in check."

I guess if you want an aerial view of Seoul from east to west, Seoul Sky is a quite competitive place to visit. As it is located at the pinnacle of Lotte World Tower, arguably highest tower in East Asia. The main entrance is on the B1 floor of the tower. Unless you visit on weekdays, line is typically long. Leading down to B2 floor, where there is an exhibition area of past Han River and Seoul Photos. Seoul sky begins on the 117th floor. On the 118th floor, there is a "sky (glass floor) deck" area where one could actually see what lies beneath the tower through the transparent glass floor. On the 119th floor, there is an ice cream and desert cafe. On the 120, there is a outdoor "sky terrace". One leads to Han River viewing deck, and the other leads to Namhansansung(South Citadel Wall) viewing deck. On this floor there is a photo shop and exiting elevator line. On the 121th floor, is the souvenir shop. 122th cafe and 123 restaurant. Seoul Sky is not just a viewing deck, but vertically stacked multi-sensory (and multi-programed) experience of Seoul. For photographic purposes, as the tower is located in Jamsil(the eastern part of Seoul) it is best to visit there in the morning for shooting. Since it is best to shoot central business district when the sun is at the back side of the photographer. Kids love it.

😌Vibes? It feels like the CN tower in Toronto, or the Kuala Lumpur tower in Malaysia. If you haven’t been to any of the tallest towers in your life but are in Korea, definitely visit this one, it’s one of the top 10 tallest towers. It’s a little hot up in here so if you go in the winter, feel free to take off your coat. 📸 Photoworthy areas? My favorite areas were the glass floors and the little areas around the back where there are heaters with signs saying not to sit on them but people are sitting on them anyways. Those are good places to take “bro I’m such an introvert/deep/philosopher” type of photos. See my photos for ideas. ⏱️How much time? There is a long line. I was impatient so I opted for the more expensive fast tickets. The fast ticket gets you to the top in 5 minutes and skips the line but cost about about 70,000 ₩ per adult. On the way back though, there is no fast or slow line, it’s just the line back. I spent about 1 hour at the tower and I think that was enough. 🚠Other stuff? There are a few restaurants and places to get ice cream. There’s also a photography service or something like that. The tower is above a mall so feel free to go downstairs to a restaurant there to top off your tower trip.

Let's talk parking first, you CAN park in/near B7, but truly not necessary as it's essentially a store front in the mall... Just park anywhere, go to level 1 mall, and walk to Seoul Sky store. Now, understand it is a touristy income generator -- so they have pictures for sale from the time you walk in until you leave ..you CAN St no and just keep going ..don't fall into thinking you have to.... Wind your way past 2/3rd paid photo area and you queue up for elevator ride to top. For me, we went at night which I liked for good background photos. If you are doing the actual walk outside (via Tethered line/red suit) you obviously have to go during the day. Once upon top, quick video and then you can start walking around 3-4 floors above...snacks, ice cream, coffee, restrooms and great picture areas -- one with glass floor!! 2 separate outside sky zones but only open on ceiling part....fully enclosed elsewhere. Once you ride elevator back down, more paid picture spots AND , of course, gift shop!! Haha Definitely worth going but tkt prices $21-59usd per person and I think another $99 for walking outside (tethered line).... Cool to be in 5th (2024) tallest building in the world!! Enjoy but watch your budget!!
