Lotte Seoul Sky is an observation deck located in the Lotte World Tower, the tallest building in South Korea and the fifth tallest in the world. It is situated on the 117th to 123rd floors of the tower, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Seoul and beyond. On clear days, you can see landmarks like the Han River, Namsan Seoul Tower, and even the mountains surrounding the city.
Seoul Sky features multiple observation decks with floor-to-ceiling windows and glass floors, allowing visitors to look straight down at the city from incredible heights. The Sky Deck on the 118th floor is particularly popular due to its transparent glass floor. There is also a Sky Terrace on the 120th floor, where you can step outside and enjoy an open-air experience.
Visitors can enjoy interactive exhibits that provide information about Seoul and the tower's construction, as well as multimedia displays showcasing the city’s history and culture. The observation deck also has cafes and a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs.
To reach the top, visitors take one of the fastest elevators in the world, which travels from the ground to the observation decks in just under a minute. The elevator ride itself is an experience, with digital displays inside the elevator showing the ascent.
Tickets can be purchased at the tower or online, and it’s a good idea to book in advance to avoid long lines, especially on weekends and holidays. The best times to visit are early in the morning or late in the afternoon for sunset views, though nighttime visits offer spectacular views of Seoul’s illuminated skyline.
The Lotte World Tower is located in the Songpa District, next to the Lotte World Mall and Lotte World Aquarium. The nearest subway station is Jamsil Station on Line 2 and Line 8, with clear signs directing you to the tower. Plan to spend about 1-2 hours at Seoul Sky to fully enjoy...

This is a great tower to explore the heart of Seoul. This is so much more than a tourist destination. Here, you can make new connections with strangers and become friends… Even if for few hours.
I had three college student girls approached my friend and I, while standing in ticket line. They asked, “Would you like an extra ticket, no cost?” I said, “Sure, but at least, let me pay you 2,000 Won.” They explained, “Our friend got sick and couldn’t make it.”
The beautiful thing about traveling is with an open mind and heart, you never know who you’ll meet and what adventures await you.
Some highlights are being inside an elevator that is all digital. It accommodates 27 people per ride. As you go up, you get to learn history of South Korea.
Once you reach the top, 117 floors, out of 123 floors. You go in this digital room that gives you about a minute history and amazing transformation of Seoul. At some point, something magical happens before they open the doors to go exploring. (You just need to visit to learn what’s so magical about it)
As you walk around, large window panels allow you to see 360 view of Seoul and how majestic it is. With all the mountains around it, it truly is a stunning sight.
They also offer dining and souvenirs, at the top floors. I would recommend it and look forward exploring it again.
There’s so much things to do around the tower, including shopping, dining and...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to visit Seoul Sky at night, and I must say, the views were absolutely breathtaking. From the observation deck, the sprawling cityscape of Seoul glimmered with countless lights, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere that felt almost magical. It was a perfect night to take in the stunning skyline, and I found myself captivated by the beauty of the city illuminated against the dark sky.
However, while the view was indeed remarkable, my overall experience was somewhat mixed. The environment felt a bit crowded, and I expected a little more in terms of engagement and activities. For such a renowned attraction, I anticipated some unique features or interactive elements that would elevate the experience. Instead, it felt more like a standard observation deck without any standout highlights.
That said, if you are a fan of breathtaking views and photography, Seoul Sky is definitely worth a visit. The panoramic sights are perfect for capturing memorable moments. I would recommend visiting during sunset for a truly picturesque experience, as the transition from day to night is simply stunning.
In conclusion, while the view at Seoul Sky was beautiful and worth seeing, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. It’s a nice stop on your Seoul itinerary, but don’t expect too much beyond the incredible scenery. I would suggest checking it out if you have the time, but keep your...
