Patacona is the cutest little beach town at the end of Malva Rosa. I took off one star because it is so tiny and the surrounding area is not lovely... There are about 5 restaurants here that are sooo adorable!! The girafe, Las Mas bonitas, Cocoa, Banana Beach and more. The staff are friendly.
On the weekends, a few little tents pop up with knick knacks like books, jewlery, knitted goods and a few other things. The beach during the summer has really cute pop up retsaurants on it and there is a SUP and surf rental company that gives lessons and classes.
The beach is topless but bottoms are required. A lot of people come here to chill, play volleyball on the beach or swim. The ocean is warm during the summer and starts to cool down in September. The beach is clean for the most part.
There are occasional cigarette butts and these tiny spiders. No one will bother you at the beach except these people selling blankets and massages but overall its really safe.
There is a bus stop conveniently located right next to Patacona so there is easy access both in and out of this area. There are also a lot of cabs available. It is about an hour bus ride from the city of Valencia and a 25 minute car ride. There are a few buses that will take you straight into the city without having to stop (31 for example).
The beach next door (Malva Rosa) is more crowded and filled with younger people. Patacona is more relaxed, has a lot of tourists from the UK, locals and in general an older crowd. I highly recommend this beach if you are looking for a nicer beach...
Read moreThe beach is at the nice location. I visited it several times in 1 week. Here are my experiences: 1st visit - best visit - arrived to see the sunrise (not so many people present as it was on Tuesday) 2nd visit - Wednesday in the noon - I have encountered several jellyfish/medusas. Please, use Medusa app to inform and be informed about current situation. I haven’t gone further than 10 meters from the shore 3rd visit - Saturday morning before sunrise. According to jellyfish activity I just enjoyed the sunrise 4th visit - Sunday morning before sunrise. The water was contamined with some waste and some leakeages, this might be cause by the near port. Also there was a smell of some flue gases. I went to the water just once before noticing the water state.
Overally it would be very helpful if some authorities could inform about current situation. At the moment it is up to the visitors which are using Medusapp. Also it is good that each morning there are cleaning squads, which are carrying out the beach area. There are...
Read morefeels like BorBora or likewise. Beautiful, warm water, clean water but spread between poor and rich is enormously- colored dudes try to advise you where to park and scam you right away (break into car, etc). At the beach, in the event you find a slot to park on a visible area, you are save until 7pm, because afterwards they crack cars. At the beach it is amazingly beautiful, clean, less noise and a lot of space. However, even with strong police presence you feel the italian/france led underground mentality allover. Paella is great, take the lobster 🦞 version! Prices are so ridiculously low for tourists but locals cannot afford anything as there are almost no fair paid positions available. In a suburb not 2km away I saw pregnant lady carries water from public source to her r - means no standards around. On the other hand the city is beautiful, the expo area is magnificent and the...
