Guadarfiá, police officer in Arrecife, even head of the municipal police force ... called himself Pollo "Chicken" of Arrecife ... was also appreciated for his friendly, affable and generous way of dealing with locals and tourists. He was awarded a medal for tourist merit and the Cross of the Order of the Knights of Cisnaros. ... also gave his name to the 2019 wrestling ground. ... died in 2010 at the age of 80. The idea for the statue came from Andrés Medina in collaboration with Francisco Hernandéz, graduate of the "Bellas Artes" of the University of La Laguna. Originally, the statue was supposed to stand in a roundabout, but now it is at the beginning of the large shopping street Leon y Castillo.

Ubicada en una zona céntrica y muy transitada de Arrecife, esta escultura capta con gran realismo la fuerza y el carácter de este legendario luchador. Además de ser una parada obligatoria para quienes valoran la historia y la cultura deportiva de Canarias, la estatua también es un bonito punto para reflexionar sobre las tradiciones que han dado identidad al pueblo lanzaroteño. Muy bien conservada y con una ubicación perfecta para fotos, se integra de forma armoniosa con el entorno urbano. Un pequeño pero significativo monumento que recuerda con cariño a un auténtico referente del deporte vernáculo. ¡Muy recomendable incluirla en cualquier paseo por el centro de Arrecife!

Questa statua si trova all'inizio della via principale di Arecife dove ci sono molti negozi, bar, ristoranti. È una strada pedonale molto carina per fare una passeggiata e fermarsi in qualche locale o fare shopping. Questa strada è ben curata, ma se ci si allontana di pochi metri dal centro, ho notato un certo degrado nella città.

È una strada pedonale molto carina per fare una passeggiata e fermarsi in qualche locale o fare shopping.
