I haven’t experienced such terrible service in a very long time and unfortunately it happened on my birthday. The waiter spoke to us in Spanish, even though he knew we don’t understand and speak English (I’m sorry I wasn’t born in Spain). He forgot one of our starter and kept interrupting me while I was trying to order (with menu in Spanish). I haven’t felt this unwelcome in a restaurant for a very long time. When I ordered three starters (for the two of us), he made me feel stupid and started explaining to me what a starter even is, as if it was my first time in a restaurant. Right after that, I ordered three main courses. For 20 minutes I sat with an empty glass, while he walked by several times clearing other tables but never asked if I wanted a refill. Later, he even forgot one of the main dishes. My husband reminded him, we waited another 20 minutes, and still nothing. When we reminded him again, he acted like he was hearing about it for the first time and then he blamed the kitchen. It’s a shame that this person represents the chef and the food, because the dishes themselves were very tasty. The tuna could have been cooked a little less well-done. This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner, but instead it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve...
Read moreGreat place we found while we were navigating through the cute streets of Arrecife. The place looked different than the other restaurants around , quietly overseeing a small church squire that was adding to it charm. Staff were so lovely ( when in a mood ;), polite and knowledgeable. The owner of the place, whose name I totally forgot due to the enchaining wine and the great time we had, was absolutely fantastic young, deducted and brave lady. She had combine successfully the authentic local cosine and the modern ever so demanding infusion. The dishes are simple but bursting with flavors, since all ingredients were supplied with care from local farms and vineyards. We will never forget this lovely place and the fantastic diner we had there. Not only I can recommend La Lapa, but confidently say that you will regret, if you visit Lanzarote but not try...
