Trendz - The Fashion Brands Store — Local services in Arrecife

My wife and I went into this shop today, looking at trainers and men’s tops. We had been in the store about 2 minutes when a man asked us if we needed help. My wife told him we were still looking. He then asked “ are you contemplating or condescending “ which I did not really understand the relation to the 2 options. He then asked are you English ? I said yes. He said “ I thought so, I can tell, I find you condescending.” ? How can four words - “ we are still looking “ be construed as condescending ? He obviously has a personal problem serving English people. We will stay well away from his store and find another shop in which to spend our money. It’s a shame really, in Arrecife we usually find most proprietors and sales persons polite and helpful and willing to accept our business, but not this man. He was extremely rude and offensive on the basis that we were born in England discriminating against us because of our country of birth. Behaviour like this on the day before Constitution Day.
