Firstly before you think I'm just trying to trash someplace please read my review for La Tabla in Costa Teguise. The menu and the reviews were promising at bar strava.
I ordered house croquettes, Morcilla and tuna tartare.
The croquettes were jamón iberico, for some reason they cooked the cured ham before they mixed it into their Bechamel. This makes the ham very chewy which could be tolerated if the pieces were smaller but they put chunks in there. Then I had a chunk of cartilage that was inedible I had to spit out. If they had sliced the ham properly they would have discovered this large chunk of cartilage about the size of one of my teeth. The Croquettes were also very salty. Before I go on please understand I was a professional chef years ago and I have a high tolerance for salt as do most chefs.
The Morcilla itself was fine. Of course they purchase this product. It was edible and the sauce underneath was okay but they had a marmalade of some kind on top that was not to my liking. It in no way complimented the sausage. It seemed completely out of place.
Now to the worst part: the tuna tartare was intolerably salty. When I mentioned this the manager told me that it's because of the soy sauce. No kidding! I wouldn't have been able to figure that out... That is a completely ignorant answer: If they want to marinate the tuna in soy they either need to do it for less time or mix the soy with sake or mirin or something else to dilute the salt. Furthermore it was smashed up pieces of mealy tuna. This is amateur hour... Tuna tartare should be cut into small dices when nearly frozen and tossed gently so that the shape is retained in the tartare. When I complained about the tartare and gave it back she said "let me talk to him" about it. She never returned. The waitress returned with my check. There was no consideration for the fact that I returned the tartare. I have owned four restaurants. When someone complains about the food I don't care whether they ate the entire plate I take it off of the bill. It's the cost of doing business properly. These people are so greedy and lazy they don't even want to improve their own business. At the very least she could have lifted one finger and returned to tell me to go to hell or whatever it was she was thinking. It would have been better than just being blown off. It's shameful. If you want good tapas try La Tabla in Costa teguise you will enjoy delicious tapas, a friendly staff very attentive and a nice atmosphere. I rarely leave a bad review anywhere but these people deserve even more than what I'm giving them. The only positive was the waitress. There was nothing wrong with her service. The one star I'm giving goes to the waitress. She deserves four but that would...
Read moreI was together with 4 friends at this restaurant 2 days ago. There is a lot to say about how we were treated. I do not recommend this place. p.s. Read the pasive agresive responses from the owners and you'll notice everything is true as a double check proof.
Out of the 4 dishes we ordered, 3 were below the quality that the place promised in the reviews. One of the waitress confirmed twice that the meat we ordered was Iberico, but when she brought it to the table, it wasn't. At the end of our dinner, my husband was asked for feedback by another waitress (because there was more than half of the meat left on the plate), and he said it was "so, so; but it was ok, the meat was not Iberico as your colleague said." The waitress then called a colleague who was aggressive and unfriendly. He assumed we wouldn't pay, even though that wasn't the case. I was very disappointed with this place and how we were treated by the waiters at the end. You should improve some english skills to understand you customers, the attitude is very important to keep you clients, the quality of the food should be review cause is not ok and you should learn how to receive a feedback if you requested. What I appreciated: the first waitress was super nice as she quickly prepared our table, and the food came promptly. Unfortunately, the aggressiveness, food quality, and overall atmosphere did not justify the money, and it was not a pleasant experience at all. I do not recommend...
