If I could give this place zero stars I would.
We had an awful experience. We paid over 500 euro to do all the animal encounters and my children were disappointed and crying.
The dolphin encounter was an absolute disgrace. Young children crying having earrings removed. The staff were giving out to the visitors for being upset that their children were upset. We literally stood in the water and watched the dolphin do a flip and swim past us... no touching the dolphin. Pictures were awful.
Was absolutely not worth the money it was like throwing money away.
The penguin encounter was also a disaster, kids weren't allowed touch the penguins, we couldn't take photos. The photos that were professionally taken were awful. Other people were complaining during the experience which brought the whole mood down.
The sea lion experience was a disgrace. They ran out of proper fitting masks they didn't fit either of my children staff didn't care they didn't get to see the sea lion swim under them. My son was crying coz the water got into his mask.
The pictures I did purchase we didn't get right digital qr codes for.
And the food... No words ..burgers burnt like rubber.
Avoid avoid avoid. We have previously been to zoomarine in Portugal which is top class. This is run by absolute chancers. We did complain and they...
Read moreWOW! what an amazing experience me and my family have had today here at selwo marina! lots of animal ranges, animals ALL seem very looked after, and healthy. rather large enclosures. can get close up to certain animals, walk through enclosures with birds and small monkeys. good for all ages, the dolphin show was amazing! and the staff are all very experienced and polite. the fluffy penguin really took me by surprise, didn’t know there was fully penguins in existence😂 the dolphin enclosure looks very deep, and lots of room for the dolphins. looking at some reviews where they say “animal abuse” “small cages” the animals seem happy, and the dolphins seem to enjoy what they do, entertain people and show their skills off. i came here 10 years ago, and don’t remember much, but i was a bit disappointed at the end when we had a photo with a sea lion, 10 years ago, the sea lion actually puts their one arm around you, and now you gotta stand a bit away from the sea lion on a line, but other than that, was yet again, 10 years later, another fabulous experience, and we enjoyed ourselfs, the baby and grandmother loved it also! they have a park, slide, cafee, the gift shop was rather expensive, but overall, i would definitely recommend!
hope you...
Read moreA beautiful and quaint place with lots to learn, discover and see but to a great extent ruined by a sales pitch masked as an event. They target families in particular and offer something vague followed by a reward of VR goggles. The event was going to be approximately 25 minutes but almost an hour into it and the woman was wrapping up information about drinking water quality and started her first of many sales pitches, starting with the water filtration system. By the time she unveiled the cooking set I took my son outside and my wife followed 30 minutes later. she is one of those who feels too polite to leave.
The whole thing took more than an hour and whoever left earlier would not receive the VR goggles. I don’t know who came up with this idea but it is certainly something that can ruin the entire day especially for families with small kids who have smaller time frames to be out and about.
I can’t even imagine what it’s like for people who are too polite to leave the room only to have a substantial amount of the day out ruined by sitting in the dark room receiving sales pitches about cooking sets and mattresses. where it not for that I would give the place five stars, but I hate fraud and this is their...
