Great place to eat. We asked for garlic bread to start but this wasn't available so we chose spicy prawns and prawns cocktail to start. Then out of no where, the waiter came over and popped a couple of slices of toasted bread that had been rubbed with garlic and a drizzle of olive oil. This was to make up for the lack of garlic bread we had tried to order. Then came our starters which were really tasty, decent size prawns in the cocktail instead of the usual piddly little ones you need a microscope to find, and the spicy prawns were just spicy enough, little kick to them and not over powering. Then to our mains. We had the salmon and the lasagne. We also ordered a side of potatoes. Everything was tasty and the salmon cooked just right. I hate when salmon is underdone and still glassy or over done and dry, but this was cooked all through and also not over done. We didnt have pudding as we were stuffed. The waiters and waitresses were pleasant and welcoming, they gave just the right amount of attention, coming over when needed, but also not hanging over you when you eat. Nothing was too much trouble and you were served with a smile and all the usual pleasantries. All in all its a fab place if you want decent flavoursome well...
Read moreWe have been going to this restaurant every time we visit benalmadena for the last number of years and it was always one of our favourite restaurants. However on this visit we were disappointed. The choice on the new menu is excellent but some of the changes are not so satisfactory. We appreciate that prices have risen as they have in many other places but the steak price has risen considerably and the steak does not include a side of your choice, all steaks only include mash and vegetables which is a very small portion and there is no option to change this for fries or another side, you have to have the mash and vegetables and then add the side you want for extra charge. The fries were roughly €7.50 and they were a small portion and not good quality. At the start of the meal you are given bread for the table which used to be free but is now €6/€7 and you are not asked if you want bread or informed there will be a charge, you are just given it. The tiramisu is normally very nice but was also disappointing as it lacked flavour, i think there was no liqueur in it. Overall a nice restaurant with good staff but there is no longer value for money going hand in hand...
Read moreDa Checco & Paolo what amazing Italian steak house, if you ever want a fillet steak (tenderloin as they call it) or a sirloin steak!! I doubt you’ll find better, my wife and I have been many many times over several years and never been disappointed, we both now only order the fillet steak 250grams!! the chef will bring both cuts of meat to your table for you to look at and ok and they are a full 250grams if not more, he then puts them on the charcoal grill in the window of the restaurant to seal the meat, before then bringing them over on a small charcoal heat tray sliced for you to cook to your liking!! And will give you more coals if you need to cook them further. What a great service here, we have had pasta and pizzas there too but the steaks are our favs and first class and reasonably priced! You won’t be...
