Casa Juana — Hotel in Benalmádena

We initially booked this accommodation for 2021 which didn’t happen due to covid. Joanna was accommodating in changing our dates. We found the accommodation in a great location. Previously when we’ve stayed in Benalmadena it was always taxis or the bus to get about. We could walk to everything that we wanted to do, with it being a short walk to the beach and Paloma park just behind. We also where there when Corpus Christi and San Juan festival was on. The house itself was large and well equipped with everything you could need. We only had 3 small issues with the house, the single beds were uncomfortable, the cooker was hard to use as the cooker knobs had no numbers or temperature instructions, keys were also an issue and at times were hard to use as they appeared worn. I can see why people mention the decor but it is decorated in a typical Spanish house style, maybe a freshen up of paint would be of benefit. The pool was amazing and entertained the whole family we pretty much had the pool to ourselves everyday. The sun loungers were plentiful and very comfortable. With the apartment and pool in close proximity we were able to nip back to the house to prepare lunch or use the toilet or grab a drink while the children played in the pool. The television or parking was not used by us at any time so we can not comment on it. We rarely used the sun terrace but it is large with more sun loungers we only used it the night the fireworks were on and it gave us a great view. We stayed November 2021 for 5 weeks with our children. We love the location of the house, perfect place for the kids as literally across the road from our favorite park (paloma park) and 5 min walk from the beach and 15 min walk you're in arroyo or at the train station. It is a spacious property with downstairs toilet and en suite for main bedroom. For anyone saying the property is dated must not understand spanish properties, it is perfectly equipped for all your needs especially if staying for a while as feels like a home. Unlimited Internet which was essential for having children and their ipads 🙄 but also ment we could enjoy some relaxing time. As we was there in November and December we didn't use any air-conditioning but heating a few times and it was very good with no issues. Parking garage available to if needed although as it was winter we parked on the street as was lots of parking. Various entrances depending where you want to go, close to our favourite restaurants and mercadona supermarket. The garden is well kept and communal areas clean and tidy. We have recently stayed for two weeks and although the accommodation was spacious and comfortable it was quite tired and run down. The lounge furniture had burn marks and needed cleaning professionally. The television only worked occasionally. The kitchen cooker had not been cleaned after previous residents and was very dirty. The crockery and cutlery was chipped and needed washing properly. There was food left in the cupboards and the freezer had not been defrosted. There were no teatowels. The bathrooms were clean although the showerhead in the ensuite was broken. We were unable to use the safe as it had been left closed and therefore was impossible to reprogram. The headboards were not fixed properly to the walls. The airconditioning leaked constantly and there was green mould on the outside paintwork. The sunbeds were broken.
