Absolute trash hospital. I've visited hospitals in developing countries that provided better service. Staff is extremely rude and hostile. I took my wife in because she was having complications with her pregnancy. We arrived by ambulance and as soon as we got there the guy at the front desk told us we should get an Uber and go to a Public hospital because we aren't Hispanic. They called security because my wife was upset and tried to ask her to get out of the wheel chair she was sitting while she was currently bleeding out. After a heated argument they finally decided to accept my money and take us in. Another doctor came by and began getting very aggressive and hostile towards us because of our nationality. The next morning they had said she could go home and I went back to our AirBnB to pick up her stuff for her. When I arrived back at the hospital I asked the front desk how to get to the room my wife was moved to. They told me that she was gone. I laughed out loud because I was holding her clothes and I said no she is here I just need to know how to get to her room. They got combative with me and tried to tell me to "find her outside". I didn't listen to them and instead when up the stairs to explore the hospital in search of my wife on my own. On the way I ran into a doctor? Surgeon? who was staring at a wall. I tried to ask him a question in Spanish but my Spanish is not so good. He said "no intiendo" and literally shooed me away with this hand but at this point I was so frantic trying to find my wife I didn't care. When arrived to her room the nurse by room acted like she didn't know what I was talking about either. Overall this is the worst experience I have ever had at any place ever not just a hospital. I never met so many mean sprinted, racist, and xenophobic people all in one place. My mind was blown. If this was the US this would be all over the news. Horrible. If you are from another country or speak another language stay away even if you have money!!! What you pay for is garbage service. Health care workers with GED level intelligence...
Read moreThis was a mixed bag. The man at reception was helpful but kept reiterating that this is private pay and we should go to the public hospital. I doubted we could get my niece there because she was very wobbly and we barely got her to this ER.
I gave them my credit card, They agreed to check her out. For the most part, direct treatment was kind and efficient, despite our poor command of Spanish, and most of the staff not speaking English.
However, no one took any kind of medical history or asked what medications she was taking. The doc ordered blood and urine samples and of course they checked her heart and blood pressure. The doc also ordered a saline drip, and they put in a stent to do so.
But, after the tests were drawn, we were left alone for hours, no one ran the saline line, No one updated us.
Eventually the doctor returned, shared the results and said we could go, they had done everything they could.
We had almost left the building before we realized that they had not removed the stent or the gooey tabs for the EKG - my niece was doing better but still pretty foggy.
When we returned to get the stent removed, one of the nurses snapped, oh, you decided to leave before we took it out?? I said, "We were told to go, and you saw us walk out and said nothing." The nurse was quite put out to have to take out the stent
Overall, the doc was good but the rest of the staff lacked professionalism. They also should have realized that just because we were too freaked out at my niece's condition to speak Spanish on command, that we would not understand the rude comments they made about us to each other.
Cheerfully awaiting the bill to see if we get charged for stuff they did not actually do, like the saline drip.

Read moreThis is the best hospital I have ever been to. As a foreigner living in Spain, I would’ve been nervous to be admitted to a hospital, but I was here for a week and got the best care imaginable from the nurses and doctors, everyone in the hospital is so nice. I speak Spanish, so that might have helped me have a good experience, but I was shocked by how caring the staff here is. They took time to understand my issues, come up with solutions, and make sure I was in good hands.
The doctors have all been meticulous about scheduling follow-ups with me to make sure I am healing well. I felt that everyone on the unit, from the nurses to the med students, were invested in my wellbeing. Coming from the US, where hospitals treat you like a piece of trash and force you to go into medical debt for even a one-night stay, I am so grateful for the kind treatment I received at Jimenez Diaz. They don’t treat you like just another number or part of the system.
The dermatology department is amazing and made me feel so comfortable while going through a really difficult time. Internal medicine was wonderful as well. I have made sure to tell all my friends in Madrid that if they have a problem, they should go to this hospital if they can. I have a new admiration for medical workers after...
