Lumbre y Barro — Attraction in Madrid

I took the initiation course at the wheel in order to be able to take regular classes afterwards. I've been taking pottery classes for about a year before that and I was extremely surprised by how much I could have learned if I would have started with lumbre y barro in the first place. Everything is didactically super structured, efficient and organized and one will practically have precious individual pieces guaranteed from the beginning! Loli and her team are incredibly supportive, super helpful and very professional in the way that they run the studio. They are all very talented artists, with lots of patience and efficient support when needed. They know when to assist, and when to leave you to work things out for yourself, a subtle balance of assistance. They also teach not only the skills required to hand make pottery as well as wheel techniques, but they teach the discipline of time as part of a larger group of people all striving to create. Me regalaron el curso de iniciación al modelado, y ha sido una experiencia preciosa. Era mi primera vez modelando y fui sola. Allí coincidí con un compañero muy especial con quien estuve compartiendo todas estas mañanas de sàbado. Isabel fue nuestra profesora. Ella, artista muy formada, que hace unas ilustraciones preciosas entre muchas otras cosas, nos enseñó con mucha paciencia y profesionalidad, con refuerzo positivo y mimo. Nos guió a través de un proceso de aprendizaje muy didàctico, a través de su ejemplo pràctico, codo a codo, y enfocado hacia lo minucioso. Esto ayudó a generar sentido crítico pero sin que fuese frustrante sino motivante, y que nos viésemos capaces de aspirar a obtener resultados con potencial. Esas horas a pesar de involucrar un trabajo de detalle, se pasan muy ràpido, y yo diría que encajan tanto en personalidades pacientes como en aquellas que, siendo màs cercano a mí, suelen preferir tener resultados más ràpidos, porque el curso permite hacer distintas piezas, cada na con una nueva técnica. A su vez, cada pieza requiere de distintas fases, por lo que hay que aprovechar bien el tiempo, especialmente si te retas a ti mismx con el diseño. Me lo pasé genial, y las piezas salieron mucho más bonitas de lo que imaginé (aunque también hay que agradecer a Isabel por esto :)))))) y a mi compi por su ayuda el último día cuando se me escapaba el tiempo por todos lados
