Amadores Beach is a brilliant spot that caters to everyone—families, couples, or anyone just looking to unwind and enjoy a scenic setting.
The water is stunning—crystal clear and a vibrant blue. Thanks to the cove-like shape of the beach, waves are minimal, making it much safer for children and perfect for a relaxed swim or just floating about.
One thing to watch out for is getting in and out of the water. The shoreline is quite rocky, and even if you can’t see them, there are plenty of hidden rocks under the surface. It’s manageable, but you do need to be cautious. Once you’re in, though, the sea is a lovely temperature and ideal for a refreshing dip.
The sand is white and bright—quite different from many other beaches on the island, which often have darker volcanic sand. It looks great, but it can be a bit rough underfoot, so don’t expect soft powdery sand.
You’ve got a good mix of bars, restaurants, and souvenir-type shops nearby, but don’t expect to find any large supermarkets in the immediate area—just the basics for a beach day.
Parking can be a bit hit and miss. There’s a decent-sized free car park, but it fills up fast—typically by 09:30 or 10:00. After that, your best bet is the underground car park which costs €6.50 for the day, which is fair enough for the convenience.
If you want to rent sunbeds and an umbrella, it’s €5 per item, so you’re looking at €15 for two beds and a parasol. Toilets aren’t free either—they charge €0.70 per visit, per person.
We’ve been visiting Amadores on and off for over 15 years, and we still think it’s one of the best beaches on Gran Canaria. It does get busy, but nowhere near the level of Playa del Inglés. It’s a beautiful, clean, and well-kept beach that’s perfect for a chilled-out...

As the sun sets, the beach transforms into a magical place with the beautiful colors of the sky reflecting on the water. It's a perfect spot to watch the sunset while sipping a refreshing drink or enjoying a delicious meal.
Overall, Playa de Amadores is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Gran Canaria. Beauty of the beach combined with the excellent facilities and activities available make it an...
Read moreThe beach itself is soft sand, clean..the water is clear.. it's the 28th July 2020 I visited.. the beach has only been open 2 weeks so maybes I'm just lucky, I don't know! Toilet situation in these Covid 19 times is S.T.R.I.C.T Forgot my mask after a walk form literally the far side of the beach and there's only one toilet block in the centre of the man made beach to use. I needed the shower, but he still said no which I found odd. Certainly not wearing my mask in a shower lol Anyways, use of the facilities is €0.60 very reasonable wish I could comment on them but I can't. BEACH HACK! Want to shower off?? There lots of foot washes along the beach. If you've got a large plastic bottle with you just stand there and keep refilling that and douse yourself down! I got a few "She's a genius" looks haha. Apart from lack of showers readily available it would have been 5 stars. The shops are hit and miss I think.. I don't like using shops with no price tags on things.. feels like they make it up as they go along. Just walk out if your...
