★★★★★- A Hidden Gem for Families: Easter at Playa la Caletilla, Nerja
Our family spent this past Easter at Playa la Caletilla in Nerja, and it turned out to be a delightful escape from the busier beaches of the Costa del Sol. Tucked just below the famous Balcón de Europa, this small cove feels like a well-kept secret, offering a sense of privacy without being far from Nerja’s lively old town. The beach itself is compact but stunning, framed by dramatic cliffs and blessed with soft golden sand. Our kids loved splashing in the gentle, clear waters, and we felt at ease thanks to the lifeguard on duty and the generally calm atmosphere. The cove’s size means it can get a bit crowded, especially during high tide, but we never felt overwhelmed—perhaps because the festive Easter processions drew most crowds elsewhere in town. Facilities are surprisingly good for such a small beach: there are sunbeds, umbrellas, and showers, and the nearby hotel restaurant serves up tasty local dishes right on the sand. We appreciated being able to pop into the old town for ice cream and tapas after a few hours in the sun. What made our visit truly special was the unique blend of local culture and seaside relaxation. The sounds of Easter celebrations drifted down from the town, adding an authentic Andalusian touch to our day at the beach. Playa la Caletilla may not offer water sports or endless space, but it more than makes up for it with charm, convenience, and a welcoming atmosphere for families.

Ypu can spend some time admiring the wavesand the silence. There are also very small pebbles everywhere. The toilet is free acces and pretty clean. The best part on this beach are the tiny houses, I guess they are private, but they look stunning. I could spend...
