Restaurante Marissal — Restaurant in Nerja

(BEWARE) Shockingly bad food, poor service and sneaky charges. Avoid.

Our visit was a disaster from start to finish. The four cheese pizza had a revolting smell and underneath the horribly thick cheese topping there was an undercooked, soggy base!

We also ordered the chicken breast which was just as bad. It came out greasy, wet, and served in a puddle of oil.

The service was painfully slow, even though the restaurant was nearly empty.

To make things worse, they tried to overcharge us with a sneaky €1.40 per person service charge (for three people!), which they only removed when questioned. This was despite the waiter reading the bill before setting it on our table.

I challenged them on the pizza as it was not cooked and they removed it from the bill—but didn’t offer a single word of apology.

Terrible...

Some of the worst food I ever put in my mouth. My husband got the tapas trio of mini vaso of salmorejo, which was about 3 teaspoons of the soup, two broken balls called bomba de queso which were bathed in a dark molasses type syrup which was so disgusting I had to spit it out and pincho de queso which was two small slices of bread with each with a minuscule slice of cheap queso curado. €11,95 this was. But it included a beer. I had the chicken nachos which said cheddar cheese but was imitation orange cheese sauce which was equally gross. I tried to order something else so I went with a hard to screw up ensaladilla rusa. Also, edible but a fail. Never again will eat at a place on the water. You just end up sacrificing and having terrible food at expensive...

We went here for lunch. The restaurant is located in balcon de Europa. The restaurant has a lovely view but that is where the loveliness ended.

Myself, my wife, my mother in law and my 10 month daughter where sat at a table. The restaurant seemed busyish and there was a bit of a wait. But we didn't mind this.

When we ordered, we were waiting over an hour and a half for our food. We notices that the staff were serving others around us (the table next to us complained)

When the food came out, it was cold and not tasty at all. When complaining the waiter told us that they were busy (which i have been in other restaurants much busier than this place)
