The hotel is very nice, located in a quiet part of Baden, yet not far from the city centre – within walking distance. My studio room was beautiful, very spacious, with a sofa and a large TV. There's also a little kitchenette and a very comfortable bed – note that the room is on the 3rd floor without an elevator. The shower in the room was a bit small (I’m not the smallest person, and I did fit in, but a few extra centimetres would have been more comfortable). The staff at the front desk were welcoming, friendly, and accommodating throughout the whole week, except on Friday (the day of my check-out). Unfortunately, the person on duty that Friday was new, someone I had never seen before, and unlike the other staff – not really helpful – perhaps due to a lack of training or just a bad day. In the end, it took me more than 20 minutes to check out (this was not waiting in a queue but trying to address a problem with my invoice) – without going into too much detail, there's definitely some room for improvement here. Breakfast is served across the river in another building, and it was very good - scrambled eggs, fresh bread, and both hot and cold beverages. Everything I needed. The spa is beautiful, and facilities like the gym, indoor pool, and sauna made my stay really enjoyable and relaxing. Overall, my experience was very positive, and I look forward to returning here in the future.

I booked a room in the historical building… and it was one of my worst experience in a 4* wellness hotel. I expected much more according to the bill (about 225euros/night). The room was small and not very "modern". Some brocken or worn things and with absolutly no view. It smelled of food in the all bulding because of a restaurant in the first floor and the smell follow you in your room. Definitlely also the worst breackfast buffet ever. Choices between an industrial orange juice or water. 2 industrials marmelades and a plastic botteld honey from… we don't know where in Europe (how dare you?). Few others choices, no local products, no fruits, small and I always have to ask for a second coffee. The only thing I appreciated is the Wellness area. A big hot swimming pool. Hammam, Finnish sauna, nice cold room and peaceful salt goats room. Very kind people at reception can't make my final appreciation grow.

My room 201 in the old building was modern & spacious with 6 windows. Super comfy down duvet. The building didn’t have elevator tho. Also to access the spa in the main building, guests needed to cross an alley in between on the ground floor, which was technically outdoors. Novum Spa was amazing! I’d suggest bring your own flip flops. I can see why some reviews mentioned it was loud, because voices echoed much in the basement and sounded louder from the center hall to its adjunct rooms. Not a huge issue for me. Breakfast was included and served in the new building across the street. There’s no kitchen in the old building so no room service. Considering the room rate I had, it was totally worth it and I’d stay here again if in Baden.

I would like to inform people when booking online for this hotel and Spar that you may not end up in the historical beautiful old hotel we thought we were booked into when booking online! ||We were directed to a modern hotel away from Spar which sadly was not up to standard. And certainly not a Boutique Spar! We felt misrepresented and very upset as we had travelled three and half hours to get there from home! My sister was visiting from SAfrica and I wanted to surprise and spoil her with a Spar get away! ||The Reception staff were welcoming and had helped us with directions as even our GPS coordinates were taking us around the block several times. Speaking to the Receptionist, she informed us that we were in fact not staying in the Historical building but their other sister hotel and this was why we could not recognize the hotel! We were looking for the Historical building that we had viewed on the website and booked! ||Interesting to note that several other guests experienced the exactly same issue! However based on our feeling of misrepresentation and the sub standard hotel, we were not willing to stay there, so we left! ||We were informed that we would not receive a refund of nearly 1500 francs for our three day stay! ||This hotel was far from up to standard! Floors dirty, scratches snd scuff marks all over the floor, hardly any furniture, just generally a very shabby appearance! The room had two camp beds ( it looked like) pushed together, with thin mattresses!! The curtain was too short and looked shrunken! ||I can honestly say it was not a place that I would choose in the first place and my booking was based on the other views of a beautiful looking old character hotel! We loved the look of the Spar inside the buildings, with lovely photos showing a really welcoming pleasant look and experience! ||There was also not hotel parking! One would need to walk a distance to get to the Spar which for us was the main purpose of our visit!! ||||I feel it only right to inform others when booking on the online site that you may very well experience same problem as us! All in all a very disappointing experience!! We ended up driving another three and half...

My husband and I stayed for four nights in the New Part of the Limmathof Baden (Novum Spa). When we booked we asked for a quiet room with a view. The staff at the Limmathof contacted us and recommended that we upgrade the room to a Junior Suite which was located on the second floor. It was a corner room with a large balcony, a very good suggestion from staff, as the room we had originally chosen was on ground level. Although there is some building work going on on the other side of the river, we did not get disturbed by it. We actually enjoyed watching some of the work going on. We checked in on the 29th of January 2019, and right from the start we've had a great experience. The lady at reception was very friendly and explained everything. We wanted to make use of the pools/baths with the mineral springs, which are located on the other side of the Limmat river (in the older building of the Limmathof). The lady explained how there is a basket with bathrobes, slippers in the room and you simply walk across the little bridge and make use of the Mineral Springs, the Steam Room, Ice Room, and the Sauna. You get to pick a locker with a key in the change rooms, and off you go. ||The whole facility is kept very clean and all the staff we've had contact with, where professional, always with a smile, and all to happy to listen, and answer any questions, and make suggestions. We also had a relativ visit with a couple of kids and we sat in the Restaurant and ordered this amazing plate with cold meats, cheeses, etc. it was served with beautiful bread. |The breakfast was an absolute delight every morning. There is a good variety available and you can also request eggs cooked to your liking. The staff again very professional, and always with a smile. ||We enjoyed our time tremendously, and we love to come and stay again, although we live in Australia and it is a very long way to come.||The Limmathof has a great team, and we hope they keep up their standard and...

I recently traveled to Baden on business and I was booked at this hotel for 5 nights. Before I get into this the specifics of this hotel, let me tell all the readers that there are two Limmathof Hotels within a few hundred metres however both of the hotels belong to the same management is what I was informed. One is the historic block while the other is the modern block.||So back to my review. This hotel is just a few kilometres from the Baden Bahnhoff. But I recommend taking the taxi from the station. It takes about €12-€15. The two blocks are in complete contrast. The historical block has still retained it's old world charm with modern amenities in the room. However the biggest drawback is it does not have any elevators. Hence please make sure not to carry heavy luggages. The hotel also has a small fitness centre.||The breakfast is served in the new block just across the river. It takes less than 5 minutes to cross over from the old block to the new block and vice-versa. The breakfast spread is not as fancy but has all the necessary items to get you running through the first half of the day.||The rooms are of various sizes. The room which was booked for me was a studio. It had a small kitchen, a mini refrigerator and the basic utensils to heat or prepare a quick meal. Every room also has a locker so that you can store your important papers or precious belongings. ||The service of the staff is truly commendable. They have been very helpful and courteous. The rooms and the property are very spacious and tidy. There was absolutely no room to complain. ||Overall a great experience. A perfect business or a...
