Our visit to Gruyères Castle was a truly memorable experience! Even though we arrived close to 5 pm, just before closing, the staff at the entrance were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They gave us excellent advice on how to best enjoy our time, suggesting we explore the castle's interior first and then wander through the gardens.

The castle itself is wonderfully preserved, and walking through its rooms felt like stepping back in time. The collection of antique furniture, tapestries, and artifacts gave us a real sense of how people lived centuries ago. It was fascinating to see all the details and imagine the castle's rich history.

The gardens are equally impressive, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. From the castle's elevated position, we could see for miles, with breathtaking views of the rolling hills and valleys. We were lucky enough to see paragliders and gliders soaring through the air, adding an extra layer of excitement to the already beautiful scenery.

One of the most unique and engaging features of the castle was the audio story. At various points in the castle, you can find listening stations with microphones. These audio stories brought the castle's history to life in a captivating way, and we highly recommend taking the time to listen to them. It was a fantastic way to learn more about the castle and its past.

Gruyères Castle is a 5-star attraction that offers a perfect blend of history, beauty, and thoughtful service. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the past, enjoy stunning views, and learn about the castle's history through engaging storytelling. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Gruyères region. It was a...

My visit to Château de Gruyères was like stepping into a page from a fairy tale. This stunning chateau, nestled in a charming medieval village, offers a picturesque and enchanting experience that is both dreamlike and awe-inspiring.

The beauty of the chateau is matched by its excellent state of preservation. Every detail, from the architecture to the interior decor, is well-maintained, reflecting a deep respect for its historical significance. The museum within the chateau is a treasure trove, offering insightful glimpses into the past and showcasing a variety of artifacts that tell the story of this magnificent place.

Walking through Château de Gruyères is a journey back in time. The ambiance is serene and majestic, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the history and beauty of the surroundings. The chateau and its surroundings are so beautifully preserved and presented that they create a truly awesome experience.

I would highly recommend Château de Gruyères to anyone looking for a cultural and historical adventure in a setting that seems to have leapt out of a storybook. Whether you are a history buff, a lover of architecture, or just someone seeking a unique and memorable experience, Château de Gruyères will...

Beautiful place with amazing scenery, the castle is remarkable too especially considering how old it is but still majestic. One flaw I must point out was an old lady who gave a tour of other group when we visited the castle, she thought we were eavesdropping her explanation when we were all in the kitchen area, we just happened in the same room, I stopped because I’ve paid the entrance fee so I was also entitled to look around. But apparently she held grudges, and she didn’t respond when I tried to tell her after the tour ended. Management: please be more strict on your staffs especially the tour guide, because what you’re offering is a hospitality service, the least you can do is smile & be polite. You can’t use an excuse like: oh I’m French so this is how I act & behave. If you do that, you’ll spilled a black ink into a cup of white milk, meaning: we will not recommend others to pay to get inside the castle anymore because of your...

Although growing up in Switzerland, I had never visited Château de Gruyères before and hadn't even been aware of its existence. But I came across it online when planning my most recent visit to the country, and I'm glad I did, because it's an absolute gem and shouldn't be missed by anyone in the area! Unlike many other castles, it's well furnished, so lots of things to look at inside. Especially the tapestries I found sensational. There are also extensive exhibits that tell the story of Swiss tourism, which I found fascinating. Wondering around the castle was a real eye-opener, feeling like a true step back in time, interesting and educational. One thing to slightly criticise: The official Website is very slow, which can be a bit frustrating. Just wondering whether it's running on a slow server, which might benefit from an upgrade. I noticed this when planning the trip and just checked again now, encountering the same problem.
