Absolutely enchanting!

The Cité Médiévale de Gruyères feels like stepping into a fairytale. The cobblestone streets, charming old buildings, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains make it a must-visit.

The village is beautifully preserved, and wandering through its narrow alleys is like taking a trip back in time. The Gruyères Castle adds to the magic, well worth a visit for its history and incredible views.

While in Gruyères, a visit to the HR Giger Museum and Bar is highly recommended. Located in the Château St. Germain, the museum houses an extensive collection of Giger's surreal and iconic artwork, including his designs for the film "Alien." Adjacent to the museum, the HR Giger Bar offers a unique experience with its biomechanical design, making you feel as if you've stepped into one of his artworks.

Plenty of cozy cafés, local cheese shops (of course!), and artisan stores to explore. It’s peaceful, picturesque, and full of Swiss charm. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip, perfect for a slow, scenic afternoon.

When is went, we were directed to a parking lot at the base of the entry into the Cité. We then had to take a quick high up a hill so make sure you're packing light. But I believe if you visit during a slower period you can park higher up and closer...
