The waitress was surly and was a little short of rolling her eyes and shrugging her shoulder when showing us available tables. Then when ordering she asked us if we wanted water with our meal and when my husband ordered it, I interrupted to remind him we have our own water (I had done enough research to know that ordering water in switzerland was a waste of money!). The said waitress then had the audacity to tell us (she called a colleague to explain in English but we understood the first time) that we cannot drink outside water at the restaurant! How utterly ridiculous. We got up and left and ended up at Auberge de Halle where the lovely waitress suggested tap water herself!

The service is polite and efficient, the food is traditional: all the main regional dishes are available from croute to fondue through double-cream and delicatessen.
Nevertheless, you will not find (it is just like anywhere else inside the village) seasonal dishes like game meat, Cuchaule with moutarde de Bénichon, ham "de la borne", or even valaisan tomato fondue (the best fondue you may try).
The fondue is top quality, delicatessen are tasty, deserts are fine.

Read moreWhat saved the experience were the scenery from the veranda and the nice staff. The fondu was very average for the price paid. The bread was the most basic you could have, below Lidl quality. Another surprise was the hot chocolate which came as… instant hot chocolate (and here I mean the powder, not actual chocolate on a stick). Last but not least, the menu mentions that the potatoes are included, but actually you need to pay an extra for what they call “cutlery”...
