Wonderful culinary experience wf FDL. We had traditional fondue n rosti wf Lemoncello n hot Choco to go wf as our dinner. We were served by Ms Claire , a beautiful French lady.she handles our check in to hotel , served us coffee n desserts n served us dinner as well . We are very impressed wf her cheerful Character n smiley face. Whole day has been smiling to every customers at every table.

Was greeting by Ms Claire before we went out to Montreux . Her warm smile had brightened up our day, a cold and drizzle weather! She was kind enough to inform us that tonight Hotel restaurant will be closed. Her initiative was such a kind gesture.

Definitely it’s a correct choice to base in Fleur de Lys , our 3rd nite here in this cozy hotel. This morning saw the hardworking boss, a young and handsome Frenchman ,wiping dry the tables and chairs for us to have alfresco cuppa in this beautiful town early morning . We asked the server for a jug of water – which was chf 4, she said that they had run out of jugs and therefore we had to buy a bottle which was 11chf This was not our problem but the failing of the restaurant, however we were still charged the 11 instead of the 4. Others after us were given jugs. There would also have been empty bottles which could have been filled for us. This was really disappointing. Weirdly the macaroni didn’t have any cheese inside it, like you might expect, though it tasted okay. At the end the bill was not brought to us, but just a card machine and we were told the amount without any breakdown. When asked we were provided with one with our server saying that she had to go inside to print it. This is a basic requirement at any restaurant - your bill!! Read moreDespite the booking issues with Agoda (another reason for direct booking next time), our stay in Gruyere and especially at this hotel was wonderful. The hotel actually provided us a better room with excellent views (not telling the room number in order to have it available for us next time we come to gruyere) to apologise for the incorrect booking handling of Agoda. We were very happy since this was our first trip after a long time. Service and personal interactions 5, hotel comfort and location 5, restaurant 4.5* (side dishes of the entrecôte weren’t up to impressive but the creativity and taste of the main dishes were very innovative and worth 5*, especially the house fondue).
